south of Dublin, is recovering
nicely and was able to be in town
this week. The ball entered the
boys head slightly above the
right ear, ranging downward
and was considered a very dan-
gerous and moat likely a fatal

Paul Willoughby, who haa been
feeding cattle here for thirty
days, this week sold two hun-
dred steers to Wal Taylor, of
Coleman, the price paid being
$40 aroupd. The steer* have
been on feed for thirty days and
were in good shape. M r. Taylor
and 1 others Jiave also shipped
down a bunch of 500 steera,
which have been placed on feed
at the oil mill |pens. In all they
have about 1000 head of feeder*.

New Railroad.
Rising Star, Dec.' 29. —Engi
neers are now running surveys
between * this point and
Eastland vis Carbon for the loca-
tion of the railroad recently con-
tracted for by local citise^ and

wee recently entered Into and it
provides that the three towns
namely, Eastland, Carbon and
Rising Star, are to furnish the
right of way. depot grounds and
$3,000 in cash. The promoter*
of the road who are mostly from
Michigan bind themselves to be
gin construction within six
months and complete the road
Within one year.
This is the second railroad
contracted to be built into Rising
8tar during the next twelve
months, this city having a bonus
with other parties of $35,000 for
a road running from Brownwood
to Cisco, touching here. The
promoters of tbe Cisco-Brown
wood road have but - s few
months in which to begin work.
