one is a strong anti-Baileyite,

Their campaign has been a very
personal one, and a number of
thing* have been written and
said. The immediate cause of
the difficulty seems to have been
the following circular which was
distributed over the county this

a stick and struck at me.
threw up my arm and caught the

him bythehaiir and pulled him
toward me. He was trying to
get out his gun at that time,
pulled loose from me and ran be-
hind his buggy, and got his gun
out. I grabbed a rock and start-
ed toward him; I wanted to get
to him to keep him from shoot-

buggy and I kept close to him as
I could. He shot at me two or
three times before he hit me.
When be shot me 1 was on the
north side of the baggy about
the hind wheel and he was near
the forewheel on the other side.

him during the time, but did not
get any rocks until he got his
