Pokes Down Pups

The game started off
with Throckmorton re-
ceiving. Gary Hebei, #44
made the 1st score for
the pups and made the
extra point. Randy Duke
made the 2nd score for
the Pups. When he tried
for the extra point he
didn’t succeed. But a
penalty against the kit-
tens gave the Pups a
second chance. Randy
Duke made the extra
point making the score
16-0.
In the second quarter
Newcastle punted. Dee
Jackson caught it and
fumbled and Newcastle
recovered. Greg Scar-
lett intercepted a pass
shortly after.
A outstanding touc h-
down was scored by
Gregg Hebei, when he
caught a pass and ran
70 yards for the score
Randy Duke made the
extra point making the
score in the 3rd quar-
ter 24-0.
Greg Scarlett inter-
cepted a pass shortly af-
ter, in the third quarter.
Gary Hebei tackled
one of the Newcastle
Kittens for a safety
making the score 26-0.
In the 4th quarter,
Chris Timmons came in
for a touchdown from a
quarterback sneak. Al-
bert Navaro made the
extra point, with the
Pups leading 32-0.
Billy Hobbs, of the
kittens * made a * touch-
down with 3:51 left in
the game. The Kittens
tried for the extra point
but didn’t succeed, mak-
ing the score 32-6.
Jerry Anderson of
Newcastle made a45yd.
touchdown with 2:39 left
in the game. The extra
point was also made by
Jerry Anderson.
Gary Hebei of the
Pups made another tre-
mendous play for a 65
yd. touchdown with 35
seconds left in the game.
The extra point was not
made. The score at the
end of the game was
38-14.
The outstanding play-
ers were Paul Howsley,
Kenneth Morgan and
Neal Cook.

BROTHERS CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS
Saturday night, Oct.
20th, was the occasion
for a family dinner
party at the ranch
home of Mrs. C.E.
King, with two of her
sons as double ho-
nor ees. They were
Jarmon King, whose
birthday is October 16,
and Howard King
whose birthday is Oct
21.
A delicious meal was
served from an attrac-
tively appointed table
carrying out a yellow
and white color
scheme and featuring
most unusual twin
birthday cakes created
by Mrs. Hester King.
Taking her cue from
the family name
“ King”. She used sm-
all golden crowns as
the motif for the cake
decor.
Those in attendence
were: Mrs. C.E.King,
Mr.and Mrs. Jarmon
King, Mr. and Mrs.
Howard King, and Mr.
and Mrs. Bob Joh-
ansen.
Jarmon is a recent-
ly retired Resident
Engineer from the
Texas Highway De-
partment where he was
employed for many
years and now resides
in Wichita Falls, with
his wife, the former
Connilee Tucker.
Howard is a bus-
iness man in Jack-
boro, where he is a
Goodyear tire dealer
and is owner of an
independent tire store.
He and his wife, the
former Hester Hows-
ley, have lived in
Jacksboro for over ten
years. Their daughter
Susan is a student at
Midwestern Universi-
ty in Wichita Falls.
All of Mrs. C.E.
King children gradua-
ted from Throckmor-
ton High School. And
still Consider Throck-
morton their old home
town. They enjoy their
frequent visits home
very much indeed.
Mr. and Mr's. Fred-
die Jackson were in Wi-
chita Falls Sunday.
