The 1990 WASP Conference Committee invites you to scenic Seattle in the beautiful Northwest!
View Puget Sound from your hotel room. Make Seattle your take-off or terminus for visiting
the Northwest. Come on out and enjoy!
HEADQUARTERS - Stouffer Madison Hotel, a 4-diamond hotel at Madison and 5th in
downtown Seattle. Hotel rates are very special for the WASP and are effective 8-28 thru
9-4 1990. Hotel information enclosed. Note the deadline of August 8th for assured hotel
reservations. The hotel is within easy walking distance to great shopping, browsing, or
exploring the waterfront.
REGISTRATION - WASP Conference Registration Fee is $120.00 until August 1, then $135.00
after that date. Refund deadline is August 15. The fee covers Welcome Reception; Cruise
to Blake Island for Indian Salmon Bake at Tillicum (Class Parties); Banquet; and Farewell
Brunch, and many other amenities to make your Seattle visit a memorable one. Your guest
(if registered) may attend all WASP functions (except Saturday Business Meeting).
OPTIONAL TOURS - Please make al 'optional tour' reservations through the Convention
Services (form enclosed). Note August 1 deadline for tour reservations. You will enjoy the
tours: City tour; Boeing Plant 767-747 production line tour AM or PM with lunch at Space
Needle. Museum of Flight tour is a 'must see'. You'll have fond memories of vintage aircraft
on display.
AIRLINE RESERVATIONS AND TICKETING - For the 1990 Conference, WASP WWII has
contracted with Ambassador Travel to handle travel arrangements for the convenience of our
attendees, if desired. This includes exclusive discount rates for airlines and car rentals. Call
toll free 1-800-233-8263 and ask for the GROUP Department, and identify yourself as an
attendee to the Women Airforce Service Pilots WWII Conference. (Hours 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
PST Monday thru Friday.) Do check what they have to offer for your trip arrangements.
TRANSPORTATION - AIRPORT TO HOTEL
Shuttle Express: Call from a Courtesy phone (near luggage area) to be picked up in 20
minutes or less, or call 622-2701. The one-way fare to hotel: 1 person $12; 2 persons $17;
3 persons $21. (24 hour service.)
Airport Express (Grayline): Ticket booths at both ends of baggage claim area. Pickup outside
United Airlines baggage claim (#16) or International baggage claim area (#1). The fare to the
hotel is $6.00 one way, $11 round trip, and service is available 6:00 AM thru 11:50 PM (30
minute intervals). The Stouffer Madison is the first stop and takes 25 minutes.
Taxi: Ask the driver first for the cost of the trip. (Approx. $25)
-4 GENERAL AVIATION - Boeing Field is the closest FBO airport. Call Flight Craft (full service)
1-800-523-1152 for reservations. (Local 206-764-6100) Also Galvin Flying Service (full service)
at 206-763-9706 or 0350. For transportation to hotel, will need to call taxi.
