tho Laredo meet but they will bo
active ugainst the Longhtarns.
ACC will enter the entire team in
this meet.
Denton State Teacher's Collego
won the Border Olympics at Lare-
do with tho Brown Brothers of
Abilene Christian first and second
in ti.e hundred yard dash nnd
they further won tho mile nelny
with a relay team stolen from
ACC. This team broke the record
that they had made while they
were serving their apprenticeship
in ACC. Each of these men was
trained by J. Eddio Weems and
when they were budded nnd leady
to bloom forth! ii splendor they
wore vamped by tho clutching
claws of tho Denton Eagles to run
in meets for which I question their
eligibility! !

Did you know that four of the
five starting man that havo bo
nobly thrashed the nets this year
saw their last service in the Daniel
Baker game? Taps weie sounded
for Chick Stone Parker nnd Wil-
lie. Chicle a lcttcrman in football
and basketball; Stone a lctterman
in basketball and football and in
1.1s freshman year track also;
Parker a lctterman in all three
sports; but Willie puts all his ef-
forts into basketball and wo all
know his value. It's an old expres-
sion but here's wishing them many
hnppy returns for their service in'
ACC.
Speaking of seniors Sonny Cow-

miss him too for he has n hand in
practically teverything that hap-

Basketball practice for tho Girls'
Athletic Club was interrupted last
week when tho girls volleyball
team fiom Clyde enme over to play
our club. The first team from
ACC was victorious in two games
but the second team lost two
games . Monday night the Clyde
girls came back with an even
stronger team. Our girls won
three of the four games played.
Basketball season will termlnnto
next -week when the GAC meets
Hardin-Simmons in two tilts. So
far the girls have made n good
showing in that they have not lost
i single game to them.
It is lumored that tho McMurry
girls think we nie afraid to play
them in basketball. There is one
answer to this unjust criticism
the McMurry club refused to enter
tho intra-city sports league. In
stead their girls havo been prac-
ticing basketball sinco the begin-
ning of school. With nil of this
practice thp team should be tiro
best in the state. If however the
McMurry git Is are willing to co
operate with us and Hardin-Sim
mons in our sports program wo
will be glnd to play them.
Speedball is the next sport tho
club will take up.
club will take up. Before this is
started though wo want to do our
best to whip Hnrdin-Simmons in
our final basketball games next
week.

It Is also Interesting to note
the total incomo of Abllono Chris-

tho total Incomo of nil prtvato
schools of tho United States. In
1920-30 both ACC nnd all private
schools started on n decline. In
the year 1031-32 ACC hit tho bot
torn but started up next year and
hns steadily Increased It Up to tho
presont tlmo. The total of nil prl-

1034-3C and then lovollcd off.
During HiIh tlmo ACC has been
