Died of Heart Failure.
Virgil Bailors, son of B. C.
Sailors, who lived one mile west
of Rattan, died very suddenly of
heart failure last Sunday even-
ing. He had been in ill healtti
but was convalescent, and was
sitting in a chair at home when
he fell over dead.
He leaves a young wife, who
was the only one on the placewith
him at the time of his death.
The remains were laid away at
Rattan Monday afternoon.
(). B. Briggs, who moved to
Sulphur Springs last spring to
look after the interests of the
Citizens Mutual Association at
that place, spent Wednesday
night in Cooper. Mr. Briggs will
come back here to work for the
Association this fall, and he is
considering moving his family
back here.

Cotton receipts have been rath-
er slow this week on account of
the decline in the price and the
wet weather. Thursday evening
the Union Yard had received s-j-j
bales and the Round Bale Gin
about GOO. Counting two round
bales for one square one the total
I receipts are 1122.
The price has been declining
all week. Last Saturday some
| long staple sold for 11.75 but
Monday the market opened up at
‘‘.25 and gradually declined until
the market Thursday was about
