Brack McDonald’s Truck Is
Wrecked—Albert Mc-
Murtree Injured.
Learns He's an Earl
W. H. (Brack) McDonald and
Albert McMurtree narrowly escap-
ed death Tuesday night when their
truck loaded with fruit was wreck-
ed near the railroad crossing on
the highway west of Commerce.
They had been to Dallas In Mr.
McDonald’s truck for a load of
fruit and were returning home In
the night. Their lights went out
suddenly and being unable to see
the road Mr. McDonald who was
driving missed the roadway and
went down a 12 foot embankment
crashing Into a telephone pole. It
was broken off and the truck
turned over, scattering the fruit
everywhere.
Mr. McMurtree was painfully
injured but being unware of his
Injuries Mr. McDonald left him to
go for aid. He was brought home
and is able to be about town but
is very sore.

causes much interest. Cooper must
win the contest to stay in the run-
ning while Honey Grove Is anxious
to win their first district game.
Edd Robnett, blocker and spark
plug of the Bulldog running attack,
will be able to start the contest,
but injuries will cause him some
trouble and will probably keep him
from playing his best. The return
of Robnett to the line-up was
heartening, but three players are
out of the contest who will be sore-
ly missed, Chandler, regular guard,
Carrington, regular end, and
Blackwell who has been seeing
plenty of service in the backfield.

SULPHUR SPRINGS, Oct. 12.—
Reports from the Walter Goldston

effect that everything is in readi-
ness for bringing in the well late
tonight or Tuesday as cement cas-
ing will be set by that time.
In the meantime, Bill Luce was
here from Dallas Sunday and
stated ten new wells would be
drilled in the Sulphur Bluff field)
just as soon as oil well rigs could
be gotten on the field, and that
three new rigs from Dallas were
being shipped In this week.
