Afflatus Club Meets
With Mrs. Sandlin
Mrs. R. N. Sandlin was hostess
to the Afflatus club last Friday
afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Seven
members answered roll call by giv-
ing the name of an eleemosynary
Institution in Texas.
Mrs. J. W. Wickersham was
leader for the afternoon, the les-
son topic being “Texas Govern-
ment: Executive and Judical De-
partment.’’ At the close of an in-
teresting lesson the hostess serv-
ed a salad course with fruit punch.

School' Class
Miss Veyetta Alexander, teach-
er of a class of girls in the inter-
mediate department of the M. E.
Church Sunday achool, entertained
the members at her home last Fri-
day evening. In a treasure hunt,
Misses Lois Jones and Jean Fletch-
er won the prizes, bracelet* in
treasure chest boxes. After sever-
al games the hostess served hot
chocolate and cake.

Aiken. Autumn colors prevailed
for decorations, yellow chrysanthe-
mums being used over the rooms.

games of bridge.
Mrs. Herman Sparks received
high score prize, Miss Joyce Bart-
ley second high, with Miss Frank-
ie McKinney receiving consolation

yellow chrysanthemums. A salad
plate was served for refreshment.

funeral of Mrs. Tom Hatcher in
Paris Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Mrs.

Stanley’s brother’s wife.

The Rebekah ladies met Thurs-
day afternoon, Nov. 14, at the
home of Mrs. Claude Pickens. An
enjoyable evening was spent play-
ing games, after which refresh-
ments of ham sandwiches, fruit
