Sunday School Class
Receive Yearbooks
Yearbooks were presented to
members of the Rainbow Sun-
day School class Monday night,
Dec. 14, when they met in the
home of Francis Powell.
Decorations of green and
white were carried out.
Christmas gifts were ex-
changed and carols were sung.
Prayer was by Phyllis Jones
: and the devotional given by
Vera Liedtke, was a Christmas
story taken from the book of
Luke, chapters 1 and 2.
Refreshments were served to

Patsy Kinney, Ann Smith, Patsy
Liedtke, Geralda Brownlow,
Phyllis Pones, Pat Brooks, June
Cartwright, and hostess.

JElect New Officers,
Have Christmas Party
The Pythian Sisters met
Tuesday, Dec. 8, to elect new
officers. Those elected were:
Clem Wall, MEC; Juanita Ro-
chelle, EXSR; Emma James,
T2XJR; Grace Love, AM; Vera
Darr, secretary; Mary Goodwin,
treasurer;. Minnie Havins, pro-
tector; Oline Conaway, guard.
Refreshments of cake and
coffee were served by Nettie
Williams and Joyce Scott.
On Friday night they had
their Christmas party in the
home of Darrel Hanks. Secret
pals exchanged gifts and the
ones that didn’t have secret
pals brought gifts and exchang-
ed with each other. Names
were drawn for next year’s sec-
ret pal.

Jessie Thomas showed films of
the degree staff and members

the gym at the Delwin school
December 15 at 1:15 p.m.
Cynthia Sossaman called the
meeting to order and read the
minutes. Games, under the di-
rection of Loraine Owens, were
played.
Seventeen members were
present.
Loggerin’ is the term cow-
boys use for riding out of the
chute at a rodeo with the hand,
or hands, gripping the saddle
horn.

Lunch at Scout Cabin
Members of the Paducah
Garden Club met for a pot luck
lunch Dec. 8 at the Girl Scout
Cabin.
Christmas carols were sung
and secret pals exchanged gifts.
The program, a workshop on
Christmas decorations, was un-
der the leadership of Mrs. John
Brown.
Mrs. G. F. Givens gave the
invocation and the roll call was
answered with a Christmas
carol. The mantel was decorated
with pine and holly.

surgery in Richards Memorial
Hospital last week.
Staley Hawkins of Wichita
Falls hunted quail here last
week.

Smith were in Canyon Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith and
daughter of El Paso spent Hast

The Dumont Bible Study Club
met Monday, Dec. 7. Devotion-
al was given by Mrs. Jno.
Scott and the message on the
Life of Job was brought by
Mrs. W. D. Brady. A Bible quiz
was conducted by Mrs. Louis
Hollar.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ratcliff and
daughter of Abilene spent the
week-end with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Billy Morris.
Mrs. Effie Harper of Doug-
las, Ariz., visited her sister, Mrs.
Jack White, and Mr. White.
Mrs. G. W. Carpenter became
quite ill Thursday and was
rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital
in Lubbock.

CWF Holds Regular-
Monthly Luncheon
And Study Meeting
The CWF of the First Chris-
tian Church held their regular
monthly luncheon and study
Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the
church. Christmas gifts to the
Julliette Fowler Home and to
Mrs. A. B. Earp, who is a resi-
dent there, were placed under
a lighted tree in the Fellowship
Hall.
Mrs. Wylie Boyle and Mrs.
Afton Willingham were hostess-
es tn 22 members and five
guests, Mrs. Lemons, Mrs. Ted
Grayum, Mrs. Forbes, Mrs.
Smith and Mrs. Smiley of Roar-
ing Springs.
A worship service was given
in the sanctuary where a can-
dle light Nativity scene was a
point of interest. The service
was conducted by Mrs. Laurel
West and narrated by Cecile
McCormick with Mrs. B. L.
Smith Jr. at the piano.

The Chalk Community Club
held their Christmas party Dec.
11 in the home of Mrs. Sib
Sexton.
Secret pals were revealed and
Mrs. Buster Davis was presented
a gift for’ being outstanding
club member for the year.
