HP's enrollment represents total of 1281
According to figures
compiled by the Howard
Payne registrar Don
Jackson enrollment for
HP totals 1281 for the fall
semester.
The 1281 figure
represents a decrease of 39
students in comparison to
the faU of 1982.
This 2.9 percent decrease

The group which was
organized in 1977 is com-
posed of two creative
individuals-Sherman An-
drus and Terry Blackwood-
along with four talented
musicians and vocalists
who give a unique contem-
porary sound.
Both Andrus and
Blackwood are former
members of the Imperials
who at the time as a group
were undergoing some
changes and left the Ben-
son Company fold under
which they recorded.
However both Andrus
and Blackwood were called
back by the company and
asked to record under the
company's Greentree
label.

Imperials and Benson ex

will sponsor a seminar on
dating sex and marrige
Tuesday and Wednesday
Oct. 11-12 in the Phelps
Chapel.
The seminar will begin at
7:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7
pjn. Wednesday and will
last until 8:30 on both days.
Wednesday's session will
be held in conjunction with
University Celebration.

dent Colleges and Univer-
sities (NIICU) which in-
dicate decreases in enroll-
ment for hundreds of col-
leges in the private sector.
These colleges include

replacement for the
Imperials.
The aspiring duo did pro-
ve to be successful. The two
traded leads on the albums
and sang close-knit
harmonies.
Several albums later
success and the demand for
appearances was even
greater causing anguish
as well as joy for the pair.
The success of the group
is revealed in its five
albums which include

Opening ""Andrus
Blackwood & Co.
Live""Soldiers of the
Lighf'and "Step Out of the
Night."
The concert is being
sponsored by the Student
Union Board and is free of
charge to students with
ID's and $1.50 to those in
the community.
Tom Ruane associate
director of the division of
student work for the Bap-
tist General Convention of
Texas will lead the
seminar. Ruane is a
graduate of Howard Payne
and Southwestern
Theological Seminary. He
served as HP's BSU direc-
tor from the faU of 1974
through the spring of 1976
after which he served as
BSU director for the
colleges many of which
are old respected church-
related and have an
average enrollment of
from 700 to 1000 students.
The NIICU also reports
that in recent years the
overall enrollment has
declined in independent
colleges and universities
just as it did in 1971 when
Andrus Blackwood & Co. Oct. 13
University of Texas at Arl-
ington for three years.
Sullivan said the seminar
will touch on the areas of
dating sex and marriage
but emphasis will be placed
on dating because students
on a college campus need
guidelines for dating and
need to know how to ap-
proach it.
Tuesday's session will
deal with discovering
yourself and Wednesday's
