Her downy baby chicks keep
Mrs. Tierce busy at her popular
hatchery ip Mineral Wells. They
are curiosity filled and want to in-
vestigate the big world about them.
They squeeze through the bars of
their cage and stand upon the rim
of the feeding trough, dizzy and
daring. Sometimes they fall to
the floor with a chirp and a flutter.
We don’t know what we are try-
ing to say unless it is that the baby
chicks in some remote way
remind us of our own
teen age, and that of the present
generation. Weren’t we all wide
eyed and anxious to investigate
the big world? Didn’t we all
squeeze out of our cages at one
time or anothei? Sometimes the
fall was painful, but after a while
our down grew into feathers and
we were able to fly instead of fall.
Such is the way of the big wide
world where chicks and children
are concerned.
