Methodist Church To Have
Study Course
Beginning Wednesday night,
February 10. 7:30, and continuing
each Wednesday night for four
weeks, all the officers, teachers, de-
partment superintendent* and
workers of the church, will take the
course of study, 'The Educational
Work of the Small Church.'
To obtain credit one must have
passed his sixteenth birthday, must
read the text book and do their
own written assignments, as well
as attending class and participating
in the discussion.
Anyone may attend the class and
take part in the discussion, for
audit and receive all the benefits
and information derived from the
course.
The principles of this course can
be applied to the small church of
any protestant denomination and
there will be many helpful sugges
tiona in the exchange of ideas
arising out of your own problems
Therefore we are extending a cor
dial invitation to the members o
the other churches of the city to
take the course with us for either
credit or audit.

Mrs. Pink White, pioneer ol
Millaap, died at her home in that
city Sunday. She was 82 years o!
age. Burial was made in Brock,
Tuesday afternoon.
Work is progressing very fast on
the razing of the McDonald store
building This historical building
ia now a thing of the past, and al
debris will be moved from the lot
by the end of the week. The
brick store in the rear ia now being
torn down. When the lot ia en-
tirely cleared off, a new Sinclair
Station will be built upon it.

Honored
Miss Katherine Maurice of Palo
Pinto, graduate student at North
Texas State Teachers College, and
a niece of Mrs. Bill Abernathy, is
one of the fifteen students selected
this week by Dean B. B. Harris of
the college to represent the institu-
tion in an annual publication,
'Who's Who Among Students in
American Universities and Col-
leges.' Miss Maurice is majoring
in chemistry. She is vice president
of the Chemistry Club and a mem-
ber of Kappa Delta Pi. honor
society, the Mary Arden Club, the
literary society, , and the Green
jackets, campus service club. The
fifteen students have been chosen
for their high rating in character,
scholarship, leadership in campus
organizations, athletics, and other
forms of extra curricular activities,
and possibility of future usefulness
to business and society.

Bill Logsdon. Last year from Oct
ober L 1935, to January I, 1936,
$146,1 77 94 was collected in taxes
This year during the same period
$155,836.06 was collected.
Mr. Logsdon stated that not over
3000 poll taxes were paid.
Ground Hog Day was February
2, but from all evidence this wise
little weather prophet did not see
his shadow. It might be wise not
to put our winter coats in storage
for a few week* yet, at old Man
Winter, has not yet had his fling.
