Dear Friends:
Another school year is about to begin and wc welcome each of you to the
McMuny campus. Wc hope you enjoyed your summer and that you share
our enthusiasm for the new academic year.
Wc welcome back to McMurry those of you who arc returning students
faculty and staff. Wc hope you will share In our spirit of commitment to the
continued excellent work of this college.
To our new students faculty and staff wc extend the same warm greeting
and hope that you will feel the same sense of pride and commitment in our
school.
All of us must work together to build a better McMurry College a school
that will be better able to provide education for our students. Wc always
want to remember that the only reason McMurry College exists is to
provide education of true excellence in the Christian context for our
students. The members of the faculty and staff are here to make it possible
for that vital mission to be accomplished.
If I can be of service to any of you I hope you will be In touch with me and
give me a chance to help you.

College Series Opens Sept 2
The fall College Scries will pro-
vide McMurry students with a var-
iety of opportunities for enter-
tainment and cultural enrichment.
Full-time students arc required
to attend four programs each
semester.
This semester's schedule begins
with Convocation at 9:30 a.m.
Sept. 2 in Radford Auditorium.

graduate of McMurry.
Johnny C Cornelius assistant
professor of business administra-
tion. Cornelius received his bache-
lor's and master's degrees from
Hardin-Simmons.
Mark N. Cox assistant football
coach assistant men's basketball
coach and instructor of physical
education. Cox is a McMurry grad-
uate and former quarterback on
the football team.
Dr. Mike L Daniel associate pro-
fessor of physical education and
chairperson of the department.
Daniel earned his bachelor's de-
gree from Southern State College
his master's from the University of
Missouri at Columbia and his doc-
torate from the University of Arkan-
sas at Faycttcville.
Natalie G. Dunnam head wo-
men's volleyball coach head
women's track coach and Instruc-
tor of physical education. Ms.
Dunnam earned her bachelor's de-
gree from Angclo State University
and her master's from Tarleton

The Lambda Epsllon Chapter of
Sigma Delta Pi National Spanish
Honor Society has initiated four
new members into its ranks at
McMurry College.
New members of Sigma Delta Pi
include: Lourdes Rodriguez a jun-
ior from Dallas; Manny Munoz a
sophomore from El Paso; Jacque-
line Moody a senior from Kileen;
and Leslie Ann Goodln a sopho-
more from Kllgore.
Elected as officers for 1986-87
arc Beatrice Donglorno president;
Lourdes Rodriguez vice-president;
and Manny Munoz secretary.
Dr. James Alvis is the faculty
