Drinking and driving is a

Many students are constantly
put in the position of being des-

Have you ever wondered
about your rights as a desig-
nated driverata party thathas
been busted by the police? It
happens every once in a while
and can put the designated
driver in a sticky situation.
What are you to do? Go to a
party and risk a citation for
being underaged or take re-
sponsibility for getting your
friend home safe?
Steven Moore of the Abilene

no written policy in Abilene on
how to deal with handling des-

The S.A.D.D. survey com-
pletedlastsemestershowedthat McMurry students tend to be
very conscientious when deal-
ing with drinking and driving.

of the 169 students surveyed
had a designated driver when
they went to parties.
With this in mind it is easy
to see that being a driver or
taking care of a friend at a
party is a good thing to do;
however the decision you
make should be based on the
environment you will put
yourself in. A citation is not
nearly worth a life. Friends
don't let friends drive drunk.
