As an elegant hair dressing, stands
Parker’s hair balsam, deservedly popular
for the beautiful hair it produces, and its
cleansing and healing properties. Com-
mencing at the roots, it promotes a lux-
uriant growth of young hair, and unfail-
ingly restores gray or faded hair to its
original youthful color, giving a soft, rich
anu lustrous appearance of great beauty.
It is pleasantly cooling to the scalp,
cleanses it lrom dandruff, cures itching
humors, and stops falling of the hair, it
is perfectly harmless, exquisitely per-
fumed, never soils the skin or gums the
hair, and pleases everybody by its many
excellent and attractive qualities* A
patron assures us that he has used 12 dif-
ferent hair preparations and that Parker’s
hair balsam surpasses them all. Sold in
large bottles at only 50 cts. and $1 by all
first-class druggists. 9-l-eod‘d&w.

NORTH TEXAS NOTES
Paris is confident that it will establish
its much talked of cotton factory.
Terrell is quite confident of becoming
the county seat of Kaufman county.
An enterprising individual, it is said,
will start an ostrich farm in Collin coun-
ty-
The cars formerly used on the narrow,
gauge or sand road at Galveston are be-
ing shipped to Texarkana to be used on
the St. Louis and Texas Narrow Gauge
Railway.
A Denison woman fell out of a second
story window the other day, and the first
thing the did after being brought to her
senses, was to wish she had on her new
silk hose instead of those old cotton stock-
ings.
Kaufman county is shaken from centre
to circumference over the county seat re-
moval question- Kaufman has the county
seat, and Terrell wants it. The Star says
Terrell now has “removal drinks,” “re-
moval beer,” “removal cigars,” “removal
hash,” and a great many other removal
things ; but the city druggists have not
yet advertised any “removal pills.”
FANIIIOX SOTES.
Fanciful parasols are more fashionable
this season than ever before.
Stylish morning dresses are made of
bandana plaid handkerchiefs.
Small lace scarfs are worn over the head
in place of hats or nubias at Saratoga.
Linen serge slippers, prettily embroid-
ered, are a late caprice for home wear.
Dainty Swiss ties for ladies are finished
on the ends with colored guipage embroid-
ery.
Very full pleadings and ruchings of Bre-
ton lace are used to garnish summer cos-
tumes.
Among fl»e imported carpets, the favor-
ite design is the black ground strewn
with daisies.

Fashionable ladies wear velvet wristlets
during the day, and only display hand-

Many fashionable dresses are made with
the fan waist in favor many years ago,
and so becoming slender figures.
Inexpensive fans are made of mummy-

Pompadour fans without the cost.
Fashionable dressmakers arc cutting

section as gold or Mexican dollars; so
you need not expect many from me.
The weather is quite pleasant now, and
cotton picking is progressing finely. It
will make fully as much as was anticipa-
ted sometime ago.
We are needing a good rain very badly,
on account of the scarcity of stock water.
A great many persons from the west
have come here to pick cotton, because of
tho failure of crops in that portion ot the
state. It is indeed a trying time with
them.
The Veal Station Greenback club met
last Saturday. Col. H. Boone was pres-
ent and delivered a Greenback speech;
but during his address, a man who says
he is a Democrat, talked aloud, apparently
to disturb the speaker. Such conduct as
this will not win, especially after the
president had invited the anti-Greenback-
ers to speak, it any of them wished to do
so.
Spriugtown has had quite a sensation
recently. A man in that vicinity was
given a very severe clubbing by a party

trouble in using scandalous talk about one
ot their family.
Where is the railroad that was to be at
