English teacher at the school,
will teach Spanish and speech
this fall in addition to English,
and Mrs. Wetzel will take over
some of the English classes.
Supt. Mitchell said that since
Mrs. Wetzel is a certified
teacher of French, there is a
possibility that the school may
offer French, either this year
or at a later date, if there is
sufficient student interest.
Mel Derr, a piano instructor
with Atherton Music Co. in
Sherman, will conduct piano
lessons for students this year.
The cost qf the lessons must
be borne by the parents, but
the school provides the time
and facilities.
This year the lessons will be
he ld at the elementary school.
The piano from the Methodist
church, which was owned by
the school, will be moved to
the elementary school for the
lessons.
Mitchell said Derr will be on
either a two or three day
instruction schedule in Howe.
"Boy!

people are depending on
reliable electric air
conditioning to bring them the
cool comfort they require.

31 Show Up For
Tom Bean Football
Thirty-one boys reported for
football at Tom Bean High
School this week, but Coach
Eddie Lang says he knows of a
number of other freshmen and
some older boys who plan to
report, and he feels certain the
school will have a B-team.
Tom Bean has not had a
B-team in the past.
The first B game is tentative-
ly scheduled to be played in
Howe on Thursday, Sept. 4.
Lang said most of his veteran
players have repoted and the
early workouts “are going
even better than I thought.
The boys are really enthusiast-
ic.’’
New Assistant Coach arrived
late last week and was on
hand for the practice sessions.
Both Lang and Gray are in
their first vear at Tom Bean.
