6 to 6.
Was among the Cuero specta-
tors at the Yorktown Pair Thurs-
day, but upon arriving in our
neighboring village we found
the parade had been postponed
uhtil Friday afternoon due to in-
clement weather This year's fair
was the first in thirteen years
that had been postponed for any
reason, which is an enviable rec-
QKSl indeed. The Geo. J. Loos
8hows, however, were in full swing
dSfertng visitors a bit of carnival
life and the scheduled Yorktown-
Sdna football game was played on
a very muddy field; And it was,
] erhaps due to this mud that the
\ rildcats were able to eke out a< 6
t ► 6 tie with the Cowboys. The
1 air a will proceed as scheduled
s arting Friday and extending
t ujoogh Sunday.

Edna showed their heavy oppon-
ents a thing or two abodt football,
despite the fact they were out-
weighed at least ten pounds to the
Man. The pellet was in Wildcat
territory most of the time during
the first half and only until the:
ladt quarter were the hosts able
to cross the Blue goal line for a
thlly. Immediately after receiv-
ing Yorktown's kick-off, the Cow-j
b^ys carried the ball to the Wild-1
cat one-yard line, where on the'
second down the final whistle blew.
At touchdown was inevitable and
H, consider the Wildcats plenty
lucky. The loss puts the Cowboys
under a pretty bad handicap as
ttd as district champlnonship hon-
ors1* are concerned for they have
loMto Kenedy and tied with
Yeretown, thus making them a
game and a half behind in the
standing. Yorktown is one game
bprfind due to a 0 to 0 tie with’
Heeville last week.
