Well, at last Christmas has
come and gone. Old Santa was
very good to us. We had a won-
derful Christmas.
Mr. and Mrs. Velmer Gage
ate Christmas lunch ’with the
Dutch Smith’s. In the afternoon
the Gages and the Dutch
Smiths visited In the Webb
Laughlln home In the Scallom
Community. Mrs. Webb Laugh-
lin will be remembered as Fairy
Ford., She had her mother and
all her family, all her brothers
except Sherwood and her only
sister, Ora. We enoyed the af
temoon very much*
- C. 8. 'jr. and Johnnie Smith
are spending the holidays with
home folks.
Mr. and Mrs. P. R. Jardon and
children spent Christmas with
his mother. His father passed
away two weeks ago. We surely
sympathlze'--wlth Mr. Jardon
and faiplly.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray King and
Hockey spent Christmas with
Mrs. King’s parents at Talpa.;
Mr. and Mrs. Fate Eckert had
all their children and grand-
children except the De Spains
during the Christmas holidays.
Also her mother. Mrs. Etta
Blackman of Austin, her brother
and wife of Round Rock and
her sister and nephew of Aus-
tin.

Mr. Hightower’s mother and his
sister and husband, Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Laughlln and Jimmie
visited In the Dutch Smith
home.
Bert Eckert of Fluanna
spent Christmas in the Dutch
Smith home.
Mr. and Mrs. Jess Ball and
little Jimmie left for Houston.
Jess has been In the hospital
since August.
Bob Dyer, Freddy Whltten-
burg and Ulen Laughlln-visited
Chill and Johnnie 8mlth one
night last week.
Virginia Oeeslln and Betty
visited her uncle, Dutch Smith

day afternoon while we are In

Grannie Conner came home

checked with her doctor

and returned back to Brown-
wood. We are glad to .know she
Is Improving so well.
. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Ivy visited
in the P. R. Reid home and had
a very encouraging and Inter-
esting 42 game; The party was
also Joined by Mrs. Reid’s
father, Wood Roberts, who also
enjoyed the game.
We are so sorry to know we
have lost another good neighbor
and friend. Mrs. F, C. Smith,
who has been at Dallas with
her daughter, Emmallne, who
has ben bedfast for the longest.

This community seems to have
the Christmas spirit In full
swing-In the good old fashion
way. Christmas trees sparkle In
most all the homes and as Is
customary there are plenty of
turke yfeasts.
On Monday night we gather-
ed at the home of Mr. and Mrs,
Edmond Rockos for another tur-
key feast which was very deli-
cious with all the trimmings.
We wish old Saint Nick will
come back next Christmas with
another oyfui Christmas. We
Were Indeed glad to hpve Mr.
and Mrf. A1 Muller from Fe-
dora, 8. D. back. with us for
Christmas again as Mrs. Muller
Is a native Texas girl. (
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Creek had
a family get - to - gether for
Christmas but I failed to learn
all their names and where __
they were all from but I know | Misses Abbie and Ruth Ervin,
they all had a nice visit back
home together again.
I believe most all the families
around had a Christmas dinner
together. Sorry Mr., and Mrs.
Walter Conners Ford played
such a naughty Christmas trick
on them,by Just taking out on
them for two nice visits they
had planned on the 26th and
28th.; do hope they have it ]
all up a going by now and have
some nice visits yet for the New
Year Is Just around the corner
which reminds me, let’s all
make a New Year vow and
stick to It.
How many of us have home
grown flower sede? I do and If
we can get some moisture, let’s
try and all meet some time In
the afternoon and plant them,
and make the home of rest of
our loved ones more beautiful.

74 years, 3 months and 9 days.
Meria Sophie Dleslng was
baptised on January 14, 1877 .in
the Evang Lerth Church of
Black Jack Settlement, Fayette
County, Texas. *
At the age of seven she moved
with her parents to Lampasas
County where they lived until
the year of 1002 when they mov-
ed to Mills County and settled
on a farm near Caradaa, Texas.
In December 18)02 (he was
married to John Seider of Prid-
dy, Texas.
To this union nlife children
were born, six boys and three
girls: namely, Wilhelm, Rudolf,
Richard, Albert, Charlie, and
Fritz, Frieda (Mrs. Joel Chris-
tenson), Alma (Mrs. Floyd Par-
tin),’Martha (Mrs. C. V. Ridge-
way), all living near Priddy.
She was preceded In death by
her husband, John Seider on
April 18, 1935.
Funeral services were held at
the home of Joel Christenson
and at the Baptist Church of
Priddy at 2:00 o’clock p. m.
Wednesday, December 20, 1949.
Services were conducted by
Rev. C. R. Simpson of Florence,
Tekhs, also by Rev. Hook of
Priddy. Burial was In Baker
Mountain Cemetery.
Pallbearers were two grand-
sons, Otto and Charles Seider,
four nephews, Bert Hopper,
George Stahnke, Alfred Seider,
and Henry Seider. Among those
left to mourn her passing are
her children, a
Stahnke; tw*
children and ■
nephews.
