CONGRATULATIONS
Mina Hubbard of Sagepark is being honored with a
retirement party May 31, after 27 years of FAA service.
That also happens to be Mina and her husband Clint’s
41st wedding anniversary. Congratulations on both
achievements.
BELATED WISHES
Christine Dunnahoe became 14 years old May 24. She
is an eighth-grader at Beverly Hills Intermediate.
Bunches of belated birthday wishes are sent to Christine
from her parents Don and Judy, brother Jason and all

Gene and Pat Sims will celebrate their 20th wedding
anniversary June 4. Gene will have to be out of town on

Robert and Beverly Thomas of Highland Meadow are

Jeffrey and Joy Black are proud to announce the birth
of their son Jason Allen Black. He was born at Humana
Hospital-Clear Lake on May 7, 1986, at 5:25 p.m.

LARIAETTE INSTALLATION DINNER
The Lariaettes held their Installation Dinner to welcome
new line members and their parents Monday, May 26,
in the Dobie cafeteria. At this time, the “old” members
met their “baby sisters” and presented them with a ted-
dy bear dressed in a diaper with Baby Lariaette and their
name on it. Mrs. LaTouche was presented with a teddy
bear dressed up as a Lariaette by the Social Officers. The
new line members are: Jenny Batson, Suzanne Clifton,
Jenny Cortines, Karen Cramp, Marcelle Davis, Shannon
Douglass, Nancy Gonzales, Micki Gross, Ganika Hari,
Kim Harnage, Lisa Jackson, Stacey Knesck, Susan
Lazenberry, Alicia Lev, Lori Love, Sonya Menchaca,
Kelli Mills, Carmen Mireles, Robin Ogden, Sheila
Richardson, Kim Schnorf, Sherry Sculli, Paige Smith,
Tina Vasquez, and Theresa Wells. Welcome, girls, and

SUMMER STAFFER
Congratulations to Ricky Blair who was accepted as
a summer staffer at Ridgecrest Baptist Assembly near
Ashville, N.C. His parents Charles and Sally of Kirkwood
South, sister Marty and all his friends wish him a wonder-

Wayne Liminac, a fifth-grade student at Meador,
celebrated his 11th birthday May 15. He was also drafted
as a pitcher on the minor league Red Sox to the major

ONE YEAR OLDER
South Belt resident Alice Phillips will celebrate her
special day June 2. Her sons Michael and Robert and all
her neighbors and friends send bunches of birthday wishes
her way.
CONGRATULATIONS, LISA
Congratulations to Lisa M. Thompson from her
parents Jim and Mary Louis and brother Jason. Lisa, a
junior at Dobie, was recently chosen as Dobie Flag Corps
Captain. This is her second year for this honor. She was
also inducted last week into the Dobie High School Na-
tional Honor Society. “We’re proud of you, Lisa.”

Ryan James, son of June and Ray James of Wood
Meadow, became 4 years old May 18. Those attending
his “Transformer” party were little sister Brandi, Mat-
thew Parsons, Adrian Guerra, Tracy and David
D’Arcy, T.J. Massey, and Jenny, Nicole and Danny
Thomas. Birthday wishes are sent his way from his
grandparents and friends in Baton Rouge, La.
TEACHER HONORED
The Beverly Hills Intermediate faculty honored Marie
Clark with a retirement reception April 29. A host of
friends, family, and faculty attended. Marie has taught
for 28 years, of which 14 years have been at Beverly Hills.
She has also taught at South Shaver Elementary (1), May
Smith Elementary (11), and in Belton ISD (2). Con-
gratulations, Marie.
OUTSTANDING STUDENT
Deedee Chamberlain was recently named Outstanding
Student in Family Studies at the commencement exercise
held at the University of Houston-University Park Col-
lege of Social Sciences. This honor is presented to a stu-
dent who has achieved academic excellence in his
major field of study. Deedee graduated with a Bachelor
of Arts degree. She has recently completed an internship
with University Children’s Hospital at Hermann in the
Child Life Program and is presently training at the
University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston
for Neonatal Behavior Assessment. She hopes to pursue
a career in parent education. Congratulations are sent
from her husband Jim, sons James and Mike and all her
friends.

COLLEGE GRAD
Dobie graduate of 1980 Phillip Jenkins recently
graduated from the University of Houston-Clear Lake
with a BS in psychology. Phillip was one of the top eight
of over 300 applicants chosen to receive a $10,000 scholar-
ship to the University of Kentucky in Lexington. He was
accepted into the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program.
He is the son of Paul and Gaynell Jenkins. Congratula-
tions, Phillip.
TALENTED TWIRLERS
Congratulations to the! following young ladies who were
selected as J. Frank Dobie’s 1986-87 Twirlers. Soph-
omores are Leigh Ann Beckham, Yvonne Gomez and
Lori Matthys. Juniors are Cindy Dekinder, Leah Ranft,
and Holly Smith. Seniors are Captain Kathy Holloway
and Christine Simon. We wish these deserving young
ladies a great year.

Cheryl and Martin Rodriguez of Sagemont celebrated

DOME TRIP
The Pee Wee Phillies were treated to a night at the
Astrodome by coaches Luis Teste and Curtis Collins. The
evening included a win by the Astros, jacket night, and
the Phillies name on the scoreboard. Team members in
attendance were Chad Collins, Brian Teste, Andy Fer-
rero, Chris Jacob, Todd Fletcher, Keith Hawkins,
Michael Macias and Christina Borsche. Also attending
were Bruce and Todd Ferrero, Jack Jacob, David and
Judy Jeffery, Rick Gifford, Daniel and Elena Macias and
family, David Collins, and Chuck Borsche. “A big thank
you to our coaches for a night of fun.”

Steve and Denise Arnson of Sageglen are proud to an-
nounce the birth of their son Erik Stephen Arnson. He
was born May 9,1986, at Texas Woman’s Hospital. Ar-
riving at 8:39 a.m., Erik weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces
and was 21 inches long. Older sisters are Lisa and Stacy.
Proud grandparents are George and Ann Biscan of
Highland, Ind. and Ferrill Arnson of Kalamazoo, Mich.

John Hourani, son of Helen Hourani, will receive his
bachelor of arts degree in social science-psychology at
Tabor College. At Tabor, John has participated in var-
sity soccer, concert band, pep band, intramurals, Tabor
Stage Ensemble, and the Hillsboro Youth Recreation Soc-
cer and Youth Conference. He also has been a member
of a music ensemble “Sojourner” and has been on the
Dean’s List. Tabor is a four-year Christian liberal arts
college in Hillsboro, Kan.
