COLLIN COUNTY GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY NON P P O BOX 865052 US POSTAGE PLANO TX 75086-5052 PAID PLANO TX RETURN SERVICE REUESED PERMIT NO 429 MOVING? Please send us your new address. We pay to have the quarterlies returned to us and remailed to you. Newsletters are not returned by the Post office so we don't know if you missed yours. SPECIAL REMINDER From: Carol E. Woods The Society is assembling a cookbook of pre-World War II recipes, nostrums, and household hints. Contributors have generously shared memories of cold walks home after school in East Texas, tidbits shared at their mothers' wedding showers, and a home remedy so dire no one would dare admit to being sick. And recipes, of course. Lemon pies to die for. Cakes using burnt sugar (remember burnt sugar?). Unusual entrees (well, not for then, but for now). Cookies galore. And of course, all this used to be put on the table without benefit of microwave, mixer, or a temperaturecontrolled oven. We're still accepting recipes, hints, and all such things. Please send to (shurlock@flash.net) or to the Society address.
