The Licensed Vocational Nurses
Association Division 20 held their
monthly meeting November 13, at
L uby’s Cafcierian in Victoria.
Guest speaker was Joan Carabin,
Executive Director of Hospice of
V icloria.
Presiding over the business
meeting was Florence Kirkland.
President Twelve LVN’s amd two
'Uident nurses were present and the
minutes were read by secretary,
ilma Rawlinson, of Cucro.
Following the program and busi-
ness session, new division officers
ere installed. The new officers are
Florence Kirkland, president Marie
stenseth of Victoria, first vice
president; Wilma Kawhnson,
secretary; Caroline Garza,
treasurer, and Emma Clay was ap-
pointed to fill the position of
second vice president.
New Directors to the Board in-
clude Mary Alice Schwinsberg of
Victoria. Martha Barefield of Pt.
Lavaca, and Lou Dovark of
Yoakum.
Seven members of Division 20
attended the LVNA State Conven-
tion, held recently at the Gunter
Hotel in San Antonio. Cuero mem-
bers attending the convention were
Wilma Rawlinson, Barbara Flcs-
sner, Mary T. McDonald, Dianne
Moeller, and Melanie Whiitcr.
Zeferina Carrisalez
Zcfcrina Gonzales , Carrisalez,
59, of Cucro, died Dec. 5 at a local
hospital.
A rosary was said at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday at the Oak Memorial
Funeral Home chapel in Cuero.
Funeral Mass was said at 10 a.m.
Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe
Catholic Church with the Rev.
Daniel Giorgi officiating. Burial
followed in San Miguel Catholic
Cemetery at Thomas ton.
Pallbearers were Henry Car-
risalez, David Carrisalez. Thomas
Carrisalez Jr., Phillip Hernandez,
Ernest Gonzales and Johnny Gon-
zales.

to a very strong demand. Ranchers
are cleaning up for winter and
many of these arc lower grades.

The country home of Mrs. Lee
Bcnbow, was the setting for the
Cuero Garden Club’s Christm
Parly held December 6th.
Co-hostesses were Mrs. Royal
Zcngcrlc and Mrs. Doyle Griffith.
The house was decorated with
the colors red and green with ac-
cents of'pine cones and candles.
The Christmas tree was decorated
with red apples, red birds, and gold
garland. A decorative ladder ex-
tended up into the tree with Santa
and four elves on it trimming the
tree.
The luncheon buffet table was
covered w ith a Christmas doth ac-
cented with jeweled poinsctlias,
Christmas trees and bells.A gold
five pronged candelabra high-
lighted the center of the table. The
mantle was decorated with pine,
pine cones, red poinsctlias, and
large red bells.

Freddie Solis, member of the
Cuero E.M.S., was guest speaker
and he discussed the services avail-
able through E.M.S. A CPR course
will be taught in 1990 and will be
open to the public.

January 4, 7:00 p.m.
