vray. at the age of 17.
In May 1012 he was married
to Vela Dixon.
He was preceded In death by
two brothers. Joe and John, and
two sisters. Mrs D. M Dutton
and Mrs Jessie Wells.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs.
Van McOUvray of Star; two
daughters. Mrs Maxine McCas-
land of Star and Mrs. Lee Lunz
of Crystal City; two sisters. Mrs
Della Carruth of Port Arthur
and Mrs Emily Dixon of Oates-
vllle: one brother, Iry of Evant;
five grandchildren and six
great - grandchildren; several
nieces, nephews and a host of
friends.
Pallbearers were his nephews,
Warren Wells. Kenneth Car-
ruth. Wallace McOUvray. Wayne
McOUvray. Cecil Dixon, John E.
McOUvray. Hollis McOUrray.
and Harold McOUrray.
Honorary pallbearers were

The best news to report from
Mullin this week Is that we have
had a very nice rain, more than
two inches In all. It fell nicely,
and thoee who hare their grain
sowed are really happy over the
rain. It looks like It may rain
some more before It clears No
complaints from me.

dent. We both enjoyed his visit
very much. Mr. Daniels was In
the drug store business In Mul-

teaching.
Mr. and Mrs. Justin Baird
and family of Colorado City,
Colorado, were recent visitors
here with Mr and Mrs W L.
Barker Mr Baird Is a nephew
of Mr. Barker. Mr Barker had
not seen his nephew In 37 years
so It must hare been a pleasant
surprise for him. The Baird
family had attended the funeral
of Mrs Bairds father at Mar-
ble Falls, and were on their
way home
Mrs. Oscar Cooksey has had
surgery In a Houston hospital
She Is recovering nicely, and 1s
at the home of her daughter.
