Kindred Represents Air Force Reserve
In Exchange Program
Fort Worth Division employee William "B. J." Kindred, an
Air Force reservist in the 301st Communications Squadron at
Carswell AFB, recently spent two weeks in England partici-
pating in an exchange program with the Royal Auxiliary Air
Force, the United Kingdom's counterpart to the U.S. Air
Force Reserve.
Kindred was selected to represent the entire Air Force
Reserve by Maj. Gen. John J. Closner, chief of the AFRES.
He began the assignment with a briefing at the Pentagon.
A highlight of the overseas trip was an orientation flight in
a Hawk fighter, Kindred said. He also flew in a Wessex heli-
copter during his assignment, went aboard a Royal Navy
frigate and visited Royal Auxiliary Air Force headquarters.
As a follow-up to the exchange program, Kindred will
report his experience and observances to Steve Duncan, the
United States' Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve
Affairs. Kindred's rank is Major.B.J. Kindred flew a Hawk fighter during his exchange

Hunger and isolation, two of the main problems
faced by the elderly, are the targets of the "Miles
for Meals" walk set for Saturday, Nov. 14. The
five-mile walk begins at 8 a.m. and concludes with
lunch, entertainment and prizes.
The event will be sponsored by Meals On
Wheels and Senior Citizen Services of Greater
Tarrant County. Channel 8 news manager and co-
anchor John McCaa is honorary chairman.
Meals On Wheels prepares and delivers more
than 1,200 hot meals to shut-ins in the local areadaily. Senior Citizen Services operates 31 senior
centers that provide hot lunches, recreation and
other services for the elderly.
Four hundred walkers are needed for the fund-
raising event. Others will make pledges for the
walkers, as in the recent Heart Walk for the Heart
Association.
GD/FW employee Luke Wooddell is assisting
with organization of Miles for Meals. For more

The Integrated Product Development Center sign on the main hangar has inspired a number of questions since it was
placed there a few weeks ago. One inquiry came from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, which inquired about a possible
article on IPD. A modern aircraft modification center is being established in the hangar for the F-16 Mid-Life Update
and Falcon UP (structural durability enhancement) IPD teams. IPD implementation is one of the division's major
goals for 1992.TV 7, 4
