ned and controlled and we certainly
infer from your statement that state
and governmental employment of-
fices should guide and direct all
j possible labor to the soil in order
I that the food which Amerca needs
i to win the war may be produced."
Farm labor conditions of last
summer and fall have been made
more acute in the light of subse-
quent events. Leeman wrote Wick-
ard. “The young men of the farms
are being called to the service of
their country and many farm la-
borers have been enrolled in civil-
ian wartime jobs."
This condition is recognized by the
agriculture secretary, who said:
“We're not going to be able to
hire as much skilled farm labor next
year as we'd like. It may be that
we can train 'teen-age boys and
young women from the . cities to
help ip farm work."
Warning against serious farm la-

ciety to be placed in the church by
Mrs. Kate Dedear the work which
she did herself. All the guests then
repaired to the other room where
