mony. Fellowship hour followed.
Don’t forget the Dorcas Bible
Study Class each Thursday morn-
ing, 10:00 to 11:00. Mrs. C. L.
Christie urges everyone who can
to come. The Rev. L. F. Minnis
is teacher.
Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Wilkinson
and daughters, Linda and Martha,

end, visiting Mrs Wilknison’s sis-
ter, Mrs. Mildred Cook, who
underwent surgery at the I. &
G. N. Hospital, Tuesday, Septem-
ber 23.
Mrs. Clyde Paschall gave a
birthday dinner Sunday for her
son-in-law, Jack Bellamy. A host
of relatives attended.

visiting the Warren family this
week-end.
Mrs. O. C. Ogletree’s father, J.

Sunday at Florence Nightingale
Hospital.
Its New, Its Different
Pupil Insurance
It’s new, It’s different. Insur-
ance for school kids.
David Cole, insurance man of
Mesquite, asked that the public be
informed of the hew insurance for
school children.
Policies may now be wrRten on
every pupil against accidental in-
juries during school hours while
participating in school activities
at, or away from, school. The cost
is $1 per student for the entire
school year, and is a project con-
ducted through the school.
Accidents do happen, and the
new low-priced ‘jrnass policy is
provided for compensation in such
cases.
Mrs. Charles A. Behrens writes
“enjoy The Mesquiter so much.
Hope to be up home soon,” and
with her note came her renewal. entertainment of vistors.

This week we got a dispatch
from a newsletter service in Kan-
sas City (which in turn gets dis-
patches from Korea) stating that
PVT. WILLIAM W. LEWIS, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Gns Lewis, Route
2, was coming home, after serving
twelve months active duty on the
front lines. When we get these
notices, we do our best to get in
touch with the families, to add
personal touches to the news,
Usually the boys are already home
or have at least landed in the
States. But when I called Mrs.
Lewis, she just shouted. Seems
the last letter they had received
from Bill was postmarked in July.
The family had become so dis-
traught that they had contacted
the Red Cross in Dallas. So you
can imagine how good I felt when
I got to pass along the good news
that Bill was not only okay, but
was coming home ........ BILLY
WEEKS called his wife, HESTER,
and parents Mr. and Mrs. Johnny
Weeks, recently to say he
was leaving for overseas (Japan)
.....WALKER HANCOCK writes
fromSan Antonio “I get a big kick
from your column - I seem to de-
tect the echoes from the Musicians
World in your style - could be?”
Could be. I’ve known a couple of
musicians....... PAUL COONll-OD
gave me a bottle of foo-foo- after-
shave lotion for Grant - said it
would make him smell good.
Didn’t know whether to be offend-
ed or not ..... young LEROY ORR,
JR. was by with his mother. Kath-
eryn, after having his teeth work-
ed on. Said it didn’t hurt a bit.
Brother JOE BILL was with them
but said he believed he’d wait un-
til cold weather to get his teeth
fixed. Never put off until tomor-
row what you can put off until
winter!
If there’s anybody around that’s
sweet sixteen and hasn’t been
kissed, I can personally recom-
mend one-year-old SAM MOTLEY.
Sam and his brother, JOE, dYess-
ed in diaper and training pants,
respectively, visited me for a min-
ute. Mother SAMMYE said “give
Mary some sugar, Sam, - and be-
lieve me, when he got through, I
had sugar (liquid form) from the
top of my head to my chin ........
BENNY PETTUS came in to bor-
row a pasture from JOSEPHINE
TOSCH for a picnic he’s planning
- got it, too....Think I’m going to
withdraw from this free meal
racket I’ve been operating. AVEL-
DON DAY invited us to his house
for barbecued GOAT ... MR. AND
MRS). DUSTY RHOADS are grand-
parents. A daughter, named DUS-
TENE ANN after grandpa (the
dust part) was born to STAFF
SERGEANT AND MRS. PAT H.
RHOADS at Clovis, New Mexico.
Grandma DORIS left Tuesday by
plane to see them ..........
MARY FRANCES HERD and RE-
BECCA PRUNKARD have their
heads together, planning a whing-
ding of a style show - with danc-
ing girls and everything ..... PAUL
CARROLL’S fussing ’cause he
can’t go to the game at Teague
Friday night - says he has to get
up too early..... EVERYBODY got
into the act at last Friday’s game
with Granbury. with five touch-
downs made by four different
guys. The SKEETERS have really
been playing ball. Hooray for our
side! ..... Saw LYNDELL DAVIS
smoking a pipe with adhesive tape
all around it - now that’s carrying
this “old faithful’' routine just a
little too far when you start hold-
ing them together with tape. If I
were Mrs. Davis, I’d leave the sit-
uation be, though. I learned my
lesson the hard way at the age of
twelve, when I scrubbed my dad’s
pipe with bon-ami, ’cause it didn’t
smell good.
