Streicher Urges
Extermination To
"Solve” Problem
Berlin (WNS) —The “bloody
path” must be taken to solve the
Jewish problem, Julius Streicher,
Naziland’s number one anti-
Semite, told a small group of
foreign anti-Semites with whom
he conferred at a secret meeting
at the Wittelsbacher Hotel in
Nuremberg. Rebuking those who
believed the Jewish question
could be handled without blood,
Streicher insisted that “one must
go the bloody path” because ‘the
Jews always attained their ends
through wholesale murder and
have been responsible for wars
and massacres. To secure the
safety of the whole world they
must be exterminated."
While Streicher was advising
his guests on how to deal with
the Jews his paper, Der Stuerm-
er, revealed that the Minister of
Justice had taken steps to stiffen
the penalties against Jews accus-
ed of having relations with Aryan
women. The minister's action was
in response to Der Stuermer’s
complaint that Jews had been
getting off too easily for such
offenses.
French Minister
Warned Poland To
Be Fair To Jews
Paris (WNS) —Although gov-
ernment circles have taken pains
to deny that Premier Leon Blum
discussed the plight of Polish
Jewry during his conference with
General Rydz-Smigly, Polish dic-
tator, the same sources have per-
mitted it to become known that
Paul Bastid, French minister of
commerce, dropped a broad hint
to the Polish leader that France
expects its commercial credits to
Poland to benefit all sections of
her population. During his visit
to Warsaw to discuss details of
the French loan M. Bastid is re-
ported to have told Polish gov-
ernment officials that only a
united Poland, including her
Jews,, can be of aid in the pres-
ent European crisis. France, he
said, is interested in a strong and
united Poland, which is impossi-
ble when one section of the pop-
ulation suffers from discrimina-
tion. It is expected that this hint
will have a decidedly favorable
reaction.
I know of no better time to face
the serious issues which confront
us than at this season of earnest
thought and deep meditation. The
prayers and the solemnity of
these Remembrance Days place
us in the proper mood for such
scrutiny. I submit one very ser-
ious matter for the consideration
of the Jews. To my mind, it is
the most serious, for from it, as
I shall try to show, our chiefest
sorrows arise. Where will the
Jews stand on the question of
war and peace? Shall we ally
ourselves with the growing and
increasing virile peace movement
which wants to destroy and erad-
icate war from the world? Or
fhnll we keep ourselves aloof,
even though war goes against our
grain, because we feel that this
is not the propitious moment for
us to act seeing that our enemies
are waiting to pounce upon us?
Now, Jews, peace-minded as
they are, would be heart and soul
in any movement that held out
some hope fpr alleviating the
world’s ills (and by that token,
their own also) but at this mo-
ment many Jews will say: “We
canaot, nor dare we actively en- cation to —-------
gage in any peace movement, for, states. Plans have been made for
our enemies will surely accuse us radio addresses, sermons, dinners.
Nation-Wide
Jewish Education
Month Launched
New York (WNS)—Acting on
the recommendations of the last
annual conference of the National
Council for Jewish Education and
the Jewish Welfare Board, hun-
dreds of Jewish schools and com-
munity centers throughout the
country have proclaimed the
month of Tishri (September 17
to October 18) as Jewish Educa
tion Enrollment Month and have
set aside the week of October 10-
16 as Natooal Education Week.
During this period special com-
mittees will undertake a compre-
hensive program designed to con-
vey the message of Jewish edu-
the Jews of the United
of being yellow livered pacifists.
At some other time,” these Jews
will say, “when we are not so
much on the spot, yes, but we
dare not now!” This was, as a

FASCISM AT
OUR GATES
By DR. L M. BIRKHEAD
There are eerten important
facts about all of the Fascist
anti-Semitic groups that I have
enumerated which must be kept
in mnd if they are to be under-
stood. Their theories bear a strik-
ing resemblance. Many of them
believe that the source of our
trouble is gold. The gold standard

noted about the views of these
groups concerning Communism
and Zionism are also important.
Both of them movements are part
and parcel of the conspiracy of
world Jewry to destroy modern
Gentile civilization. The Fascists
claim that 85 per cent of the
Communist* are Jew*.

THOUGHTS
D. H, W.
Los Angeles (WNS)—Dr. Rufu*

University of Southern California
has promised an immediate in-
vestigation into the remark* of
Dean Cromwell, U. S. C. trade
coach and one of the Olympic
track coaches, whom resignation
is being demanded because he
told a cheering crowd of 3000
Nazis here: “Oh, if I could only
be that handsome boy Adolf
(Hitler) in New York for an
hour.” This remark was made by
Cromwell in a pro-Hitler speech
at a rally of the German-Aroeri-
can Alliance. The demand for
Cromwell’s resignation came
from the Hollywood League
Against Nazism, many alumni of
the University and from Frederic
March, Florence Eldridge. Eddie
Cantor, Gloria Stuart and Ernst
