SENATOR JAMES . . .
(Continued from page 1)
"My duties obviously do not
permit me to serve all of the or-
ganisations that seek my coop-
eration.- Senator Mead explain-
ed. “but I realized that there is
'ic more useful and constructive
agency than yours, so I felt hon.
>red that I should be called upon
to serve with Senator Wagner.
In becoming more active in your
organization I am following the
example of my senior Senator,
Robert F. Wagner, and the ex-
ample of the President of the
United States, who has become
the most important figure in the
world by his contribution to the
cause of peace and the dignity
of man.
“If we find an opportunity to
«rve an association that is in
harmony with the policies ad-
vocated by our President and the
emor Senator from New York,
it's not a burden to do so. It adds
to the sum total of the more
general contribution we are able
to make for the entire American
ition I am highly privileged
to participate in the affairs of
ORT and to interpret it to my
-olleagues in the United States
