The jinx that fell on the
trail of Stephen Perner,
Crockett County ranchman, a
few months back is still
hounding his footsteps.
The first time the jinx
cropped up it was in the form
of a maddened steer which
made a lunge at Mr. Pettier
in a corral at irte ranch, in
his hurry to get out of range
