CLUBS RECEPTION
One of the most charming hospit-
alities of the season was the entertain-
ing of the three clubs of the city with
a few visiting ladies, by Mesdames
Roger Earl Clements and Leonard Al-
ton Scaggs on Wednesday afternoon
at the beautiful Clements home.
On entering the reception hall, the
guests were given a cordial greeting
by the hostesses, then conducted in-
to the parlors, where merry conver-
sation reigned supreme, until cards
and pencils were passed for a gro-

j son place, and Mr. Weatherby bought

grounds, known as the Burnet place.
I have bought the New Racket Store from
Mr. Egger'and will sell the goods at some price.

pastor of the Presbyterian church
for some tlhie, expects to leave next
week for Waxahaehie to enter Trin-
ity college: A successor for him as
pastor of the church has not yet been
selected. Rev. Dooley and his sis-
ter have "pade many warm friends
here who wilkpart with them with re-
gret.
Judge H. T. White and wife - left
Tuesday night for their new home
[at Phoenix, S.C .. carrying with
i them the good wishes of’many friends
throughout this section. -
L. E. Miller anil wife arrived at home
Sunday morning from Temple, where
Mrs. Miller lias been in the sanitar-
ium for an operation. She is getting
along" very nicely.
T. H. Irwin and family have return-,
ed from New Mexico, where they spent
several years, and will make their
home in Mills coitety. They have a
great many friends here who are
glad to welcome- them home.
