Ann (Walker) Gressett. For
thirty-five years she was
employed by Comanche County
Telephone Co., Inc. as an
accountant and office manager.
She was a member of the First
United Methodist Church in
Comanche.
Mrs. Boyd was married to
Archie E. Boyd on December 22,
1952 in Comaflche, Texas.
She is survived by husband,
Archie E. Boyd, Comanche,
Texas; sister-in-law Daviddie
(Dabney) Ray, Comanche,
Texas; brother, Earl V. Gressett,

Cox, M.L. Green, Jerry Vines,
John Weaver, Terry Barnes and
John Lochridge.

Services for Amos Gayle Cox,
77, of Lufkin, Texas, was held at
11:30 am Wednesday in the
Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home
Chapel in Lufkin with Bro Paul
White, Bro. Bill Cofer and Bro.
Verdell Morris officiating.
Interment followed in the Berry
Cemetery.
Mr. Cox was bom at 2:00 pm
on December 30, 1923, in Sidney,
Texas, the son of Olive
(Ashenhurst)and John Elmer Cox,
the ninth of nine children. He went
home to the Lord on Monday,
October 1, * 2001 in a Lufkin
hospital.
While serving as a sergeant in
the Army Corp of Engineers in
World War II, he married the “love
of his life”, Pansy Estelle Harris of
Comanche, Texas, at the
courthouse in San Luis Obispo,
California, on May 1, 1944. He
was baptized into Christ in 1948
in Fort Worth, Texas. After
leaving the service, he worked for
Chrysler and Volkswagen for
many years. Two children
completed his family-Debbie Cox
and Shane Cox. He was the owner
of AMS in Lufkin, Texas, until his
retirement in 1986.
He is loved and will be greatly
missed by Pansy, his wife of 37
years, of Lufkin; his daughter,
Debbie Cox of Mesquite; his son
and daughter-in-law, Shane and
Sandra Cox of Huntington; his two
Robert L. Reedy, D.D.S.

Cox, both of Huntington; his sister,
‘Verlin McGlothin of Grandbury;
as well as numerous nieces,
nephews and other relatives
Mr. Cox was preceded in death
by.two brothers and five sister.
Pallbearers were Bill Feam,
Mike Funderburgh, Mike Pinkard,
Richard Pinkard, Bill Brown and
Tommy Brann.

Elizabeth Morris, age 78, of
De Leon, Texas, passed away,
Wednesday, October 3, 2001 in
an Arlington, Texas hospital.
She was bom May 26, 1923
to the late William Moreland and/
Vera Hampton Moreland in De
Leon. She married Curtis F.
Morris, September 5,1949 in De
Leon, Texas.She was preceded in
in death by her husband and one
brother, James Cecil Moreland.
She was a retired school
teacher, a homemaker, and a
member of the De Leon First
Baptist Church and the De Leon
Shakespeare Club.
Funeral services were held
Saturday, October 6, 2001 at
2:00 p.m. in the De Leon First
Baptist Church. Burial was in the
De Leon Cemetery. Officiating
was minister Tom Martin. Music
was presented by Rocky and
Martha Bunting.
Survivors are two sons,
Wesley Northcutt of Mansfield
and Jon Curtis of Galveston;
three <Jaughters, Melinda
Freeman of Austin, Melissa
Tiegerman of Houston and
Mollie Zahner of Grand Prairie;
one brother, George Moreland of
Fort Worth; and eleven
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her
grandsons.

Ina Mae Grisham Quinn, age
86, of Midland, formerly, of De
Leon passed away Saturday,
October 6, 2001 at the Midland
Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Quinn’s funeral was
Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at
10:30a.m. at the Nowlin Funeral
Home Chapel with the minister
Tim Skaggs officiating and Jackie
Auvenshine assisting She was
buried in the De Leon Cemetery.
Ina Mae Grisham was bom
September 23,1915 in Comanche
County, Texas to the late Alan
Grisham and Myrtle Browning
Grisham. She married Newman
Alton Quinn on May 30, 1932 in
Rock Bluff, Texas
She was a homemaker, and
had lived in Midland several
years, coming from De Leon. She
was a member of Rock Bluff
Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her
husband, Newman Alton Quinn of
Midland; one son, James Quinn
and wife Shirley of De Leon; two
daughters, Margaret Lightfoot
and husband Bruce of Odessa and
Maxine Skaggs and husband
Bruce of Midland; 10
grandchildren: 23 great-
grandchildren and 7 great-great-
grandchildren
She was preceded by four
brothers, Sonny Boy, Aubrey,
Alan Jr., and R D Grisham, and
by 2 great-grandchildren
Pallbearers were Jason
Holiedy, Benjiman Holiedy,
Jeremy Quinn, Dusty Quinn,
Ronald Wilkerson, and Don

the Comanche Catholic Youth
headed on a weekend full of fun
and learning at a Disciple Now
Retreat in Denton, Texas at
Camp Copass to learn how to
become a Christian leader at
church, school, and home. The
teenagers who attended the
retreat were Melissa Cuellar,
Curtis Mosier, Anthony Arreolla,
Marcie Alexander, Karina
Calderon, and Martha Cortez.
Ginny Mosier, a youth leader at
Sacred Heart Catholic Church
was on- the staff as a counselor
and Virginia Webb attended as
the Youth Minister for the
Church.
Comanche Youth at this
retreat intermingled and shared
ideas with a hundred other 7, 8,
and 9 graders from within the
Fort Worth Diocese.

The East Side Baptist Church
will host a Lay* Led Revival on
Sunday, October 14th and
Wednesday, October 17th.
Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m.
