Head In Butler Home
Simplicity keynoted the set-
ting for the marriage of Mrs.

The bride wore a navy crepe

Odem Visitor Bitten
By Snake Shortly After
Arrival From Houston
Mr. and Mrs. N. C. McGehee
of Houston arrived in Odem last
Friday for a visit in the W. M.
Winebrenner home. Shortly
after their arrival he and Lamar
Winebrenner were doing target
practice at the edge of some
woods when McGehee was bitten
by a snake.
Though the snake was not
seen and the fang marks are not
those of a rattler, it is definitely
established that it was a poison-
ous snake that bit the man. He
is confined to bed and is suffer-
ing considerable pain from a
badly swollen leg.
The McGehees had come by
Odem to pick up Lamar Wine-
brenner to take him on a vaca-
tion they had planned to spend
at Lake Catherine, Ark. Fish-
ing and boating on a cool, blue
lake is one way to spend a pleas
ant vacation, but spending two
weeks in bed nursing a swollen
leg from a snake bite is a far
cry from a vacation of any
pleasant possibilities. The dis-
appointment is almost as hard
for McGehee to bear - as is the
pain from the snake bite. And
Lamar’s blasted dream of a
REAL vacation has done nothing
to uphold that young fellow’s
morale either. And since Mrs.
McGehee is a registered nurse
the sickroom duties that are hers
during this experience offer no
diversion for her.
Mrs. McGehee is the former
Mary Ruth Winebrenner of
Odem.
Miss Hugh Delle Leaves

10 through July 14. Then she

session of summer school. She
will graduate from the Univer-
sity at mid-term and will work

far in her chosen profession. She
has substantial training, a nat-

signed her. Those qualifications
coupled up with her consecrated
Christian living will add up to
success in the field of school
teaching. She will be an asset
to the religious life of any com-
munity in which she may teach.
