Mrs. W. S. Monkhouse went to San
Antonio last week and bad her
tonsils removed. Though she was not
doing well Sunday, a later report was
to the effect that she was out of dan-
ger. Mr. Monkhouse is with liis wife.
W. A. Butler met Mr. and Mrs. C. C.
iCrnwford of Charleston, W. Va. in
|Kan Antonio Tuesday. Mrs. Craw-
ford is a sister of Mrs. \V. A. Butler
|but was unable to get here in time
for their mother's funeral Sunday.

August Big Day of Convention
In addition to the splendid all-day
progriini. at a P. .M. the club women
of Cvalde will entertain the visiting
Indies with a drive and a reception
at the home of Congressman Garner.
The pageant will be given at eight
and at the close of the pageant a big
dance at tiie Kincaid, Cvatde's new
hotel.
All visiting ladies are requested to
register at the Kincaid before four
o'clock on Wednesday.

You are hereby commanded to sum-
mon Crescendo Ramirez by making
publication of this citation once in
each week for four consecutive weeks
previous to the return day hereof, in
some newspaper published in your
county, if then- lie a newsjiaper pub-
lished therein, hut if not, then in the
nearest county where a newspaper is
published, to appear at the next reg-
ular term of the District Court of Za-
vala County, to lie hidden at the court-
house thereof, in Batesville, on tin-
first Monday in September, 1927, the
same being the ,1th day of September.

mirez is plaintiff and Cresceneio Ra-
mirez is defendant, said petition al-
leging that plaintiff is and has been
for a iieriod of twelve months prior to
exhibiting her js-tition in said cause an
actual hona fide inhabitant of the
State of Texas, and lias resided in Za-
vala County, Texas, for at least 0
months next preceding the filing of
said suit ; that on or about the l!*th
day of October, A I). 1921, in Laredo,
Webb County, Texas, plaintiff, then
a single woman by the name of Felici-
tas Carillo. was lawfully married to
the defendant: that they lived togeth-
er as husband and wife for only three
days after said marriage, until about I
October 23rd, 11*21, w hen without prov-1
oeation on her part, the defendant j
abandoned plaintiff, and went away!
