ELDORADO WINS ONE
LOSES ONE 111 SAN SABA.
The Eldorado Eagles wed to
Sac Saba last Friday where they
played two games of ball the
game Friday afternoon was lost
to San Saba 2 to 4, but the Eag-
les after a nights rest, won the
Saturday 'a game by a scare of 6
to 2 The trip was a financial
loss to the home team as there
was scarcely no gate receipts.

Proposing an amendment to the
Constitution of the State of
Texas removing from the Con-
s.itutiou all limitations as tne
amount of compensation ot offi-
cers, the compensation and ex-
penses of said officers to be as
provided by law, and tixng the
compensation of the Governor,
and providing that said amend-
ment shall be effective on and
after January 1, 1929, and not
sooner.
Be it Resolved by the Legislators
of the State of Texas:
Section 1, That Article XVI of
the Constitution of the State of
Texas beamanded by inserting
theiein a new section to be num-
bered Section 3()a which shall
read as follows:
Section 30a. Ail provisions of
the present Constitution of Tex-
as fixing or limiting the amount
of salary of compensation of ofti
csrs and members of the Legis-
lature are hereby repealed and
hereafter said officers and mem
bers of the Legislature shall re-
ceive such salary or compensa
tion and expensesas now provid
ed until otherwise porvided by
law. The salary of the Governoi
shall be Ten Thousand Dollas
($10,000.00) per year, and no
more, payable monthly, and he
shall have the occupancy and use
of the Governor’s mansion, fix-
tures and furniture.
The salary or compensation ol
any member of the Legislature
shall not exceed fifteen hundred
dollars per year, and actual trav
eling expenses from the place of
residence to the capito) and re-
turning for each session of tne
Legislature, as shall hereafter
be provided by law; and provid-
ed that no change of salary or
cmipeusation from that now
provided by the Constitution
-hall become effective until the
first day of January following
the first general election held al-
ter adoption of this amendment
Sec. 2: Said proposed amend-
ment shall be submitted to a
vote of the electors of this State
qualified to vote on constitutional
amend meats at an election to be
held throughout the State on
the first Monday in August, A
D. 1927, at which each voter • p-
posing said amendment shall
scratch off of the ballot w ith
pen or pencil the following words
printed thereon:
For the amendment to the Con-
stitution of the State of Texas
removing from the Constitution
all liminations as to the amount
of compensation of officers, the
compensation ami expenses ol'
said officers to be provided by-
law, and fixing the compensation
of the ofeernur, and providing
that said amendment shall be ef-
fective on and after January 1
1929, and not sooner;” and eacl
