TEXAS BUSINESS PROMISES TO
CURB RUNAWAY PRICES
Texans are fighting the battle of the
bulging budget today. Prices, paced by
rents, began to rise Monday a few
hours after O. P. A. controls ceased.
Business men from the Red River to
the Rio Grande pledged they would do
everything possible to curb runaway
inflation. But increases were reported
in rents, meat, milk, some food and
oil. Increases in rent wrere the sharp-
est reported, and the most general.
