Lipan Will Open Bid to
Defend Championship
RANGER (Spl.)—The Cisco
Loboes defeated De Leon here Fri-
day night 81-6 and will meet
Stamford, the defending state
champion, next Friday night in
Abilene.
Coach Each lienuerson’s Loboes
built up a 24-0 halftime lead. Cisco
scored on it first pbssesion after
returning the kick off to its own
41 yard line. In four plays Charley
Lipsey got the initial score. Duane
Hale run for the two point con-
version.
Cisco added its second score
after De Leon gambled deep In
their own territory. The Loboes
took over on the De Leon 40 after
a fourth down came from the 35

Delbert Shaefer hit Kinney in
the end zone all alone for the sec-
ond touchdown. Hale added his
second two point conversion and

wood is spending the week with

Mrs. Troy Gordon and daugh-
ters. Other visitors over the
weekend were Mr. and Mrs. La-
verne Gordon and family of Mid-
kiff, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
also visited with her mother, Mrs.
Dove Fulfer and other relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Carr were
guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Chester Parham Saturday night,
Deanna Carr and Judy Cavitt
visited with Lavsme Rasberry
Saturday afternoon.

Farmington, New Mexico visited

This is Donna’s first trip to Texas
since she is only two months old.

Friday for their regularly sched-
uled meeting In the home of Mrs.
Chance Starting west of Clairette.
Mrs. Gollghtiy presided In the
absence of the president and vice-
president.
Mrs. Loden played organ ac-
companiment as the group sang
“God Bleis America*. Mrs. Willis
offered the opening prayer. Roll
was called and candy recipes were
exchanged.
Mrs. Gollghtiy received the
lucky lady gift.
Mft. Johnson gave a report on
the November council meeting.
The Christinas party was planned
A dinner and Christmas tree will
be the entertainment on Dec. li.
Plum pudding, homemade cook-
ies, mints and sassafras tea or
coffee were served to Mmes. John
Gollghtiy, George Loden, Frank
Johnson, O. V. King, H. 0. Wolfs,
N. E. McGuire, John Willis and s
guest Miss Jafl« Burden.
The next meeting will be held
on Dec. 4 with Mrs. H. K. Self
at hostess.
The only punt of the game set
up the third Lobo touchdown in
the second. De Leon punted and it
carried only 5 yards and Cisco
took over on their own 37. The
Loboes drove 67 yards in 12 plays.
Martin took the ball over from
12 yards out with 2:20 left in th<>
half. Hale got the bonus two
point conversion and the Loboes
left thp field at half tbne with a
24-0 lead.
In the second half guard Jim
Sitton of Cisco recovered a De
Leon fumble on the Cisco nine to
thwart a scoring threut. ow-
,ever, the Bearcats got possesion
late in the third when Ja ne:: Bur-
ton intercepted a Cisco pass on his
own 17. From there De Leon
ground 83 yards for its only score.*
Grady West turned in the key
play of the drive on a 23 yard roll
out that moved the Bearcats to
Cisco three plays later and the
extra point try was no good.
With 7:35 left Cisco took the
ensuing kickoff and move^ 71
yards in four plays for its' Iasi
score. Hale got Wto the scoring
column with a run of eight yards.

ing up.
Mr. Bohannon who has been in
the hospital came home Saturday.

pital at this time.

A grass fire that originated
near the Church of Christ went
wild in the high winds Thursday
and did considerable damage. We
are all proud of the men of the
community who worked so cour-
ageous at putting out the fire.
Two of the Stephenville fire trucks
bogged down and the work was
done mostly by the men. The
Fehls want to express their
thanks.
