I Board Discusses School
RenuMleling Bond issue
j Tuesday night of last week the
Hieo school board in regula" ses-
sion discussed the possibility of a
j major remodeling program for t4^;
J high shool building. Architect
plans and estimates have been re-
ceived by the local hoard, at no
cost tw the school. Total estimate
that a tax increase on oresent val-
uations of 15 cents on the hundred
dollar valuation would lie requir-
ed to finance the bonds.
Plans fur the remodeling pro-
gram would include removing the
upper story used as an auditorium
from the present structure, ami
building a new addition directly
north of the present structure, to
serve as the auditorium, with space
lor offices, rest looms and one
class room. The new auditorium
would seat 400 persons.
Other improvements on the old
building would he a new roof and
ceilings, all-steel windows and
doors, plus other repairing and
renovations, i
Reaction of the patrorts :n the
district, when informed fully of
the plans,, will determine whether

1 believe down deep in his heart every spectator in thi

could be found to express himself. After giving it a little
thought, I can assure you those words Cannot he put to-

football game has ever been played in Stephenville. If any
thing was left out, 1 can’t imagine what it was. Interceptions

return by Tommv Glasgow for a Tl), almost indispensable
plays called back and penalties assessed fancy ball hal^dl- :J:

gambes in mid-field for that extra needed one yard on
fourth down. Yellow Jackets realizing before your eyes to
tarkle a fast, hard hitting, 190 lb. fullback low so they could
stop him, Guy Golden throwing a perfect block into two
men, paving the way for an 85 yard touchdown run by
Franklin Wood, Ross Grief intercepting passes with o'tje
