SAYS GOOD TIMES AHEAD
StenUty Jardinc, of the U. S. De-
partment of Agriculture, aaya the out-
look for things better were never
brighter than they are at this time,
especially with reference to the farm-
ers of the country, and that this will
be the most prosperous season In live
years.
The Secretary of Agriculture says
there are no large surpluses of grain
or livestock to handicap prices, as
has been the case for several years
past; that there is but one way for
wages to go now, and that is back to
normal; that world markets are open
to the point where the demand is once
more greater than our supply and
that prosperity is going to shift with-
in the next few months from the cities
to the farms. There is still much un-
employment in all of the lurger cities,
but this condition, too, is getting bet-
ter, though it means that when har-
vest time again rolls around 'there will
be no scarcity of labor, and the grow-
ers will not be forced to pay such
high wages that their profit will l>e
swept away. The report says every
rural activity is in shape to realize
good profits this year-—wheat, corn,
hay, cotton, livestock and fruits. And
it not only^forecasts a good profit hut
a bountiful production of everything.
“Go ahead with your spring work
with the assurance that you are go-
ing to have the m<Vt prosperous sea-
son in five years," says Secretary Jar-
dine.

With good rains all over the State and oil business getting
better every day around Stephenville. one company now
about ready to drill Laney No. 3, and onS at Exray about
ready to spud in,-it seems to us that with low prices being of-
fered in city property that now is the time’to get these bar-
gains before these wells come in. With good chances of oil
and good prospects that good crops may be made, property
will surely advance this year and lots of people coming here
to the good schools, Stephenville is certain to grow.
