Del Cerro Pecans which were
produced in Las Cruces, N.M.
were distributed for members
to sell. Proceeds will go to
support a girl at Girlstown.
Mrs. Martin Reynolds, anew
member, was welcomed by the
club. Mrs. Louie Carter gave
a program on Americanism.
Mrs. Ogle served refreshments
of spiced tea or coffee and pe-
can pie to Mines. Jerry Myatt,
Donald Schwab, Verlon Edgar,
Bill Berry, Gary Stacy, Ron-

Daughters and sons of the cou-
ple will serve as hosts; they are
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Graf, Mr.

Mrs. H.B. Carpenter, all of Lev-
elland; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
Weiser, Devine, Tex.; Mr. and
Mrs. B.A. Graf, Amarillo,
Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Graf, Lub-
bock.
Mr. and Mrs. Graf have 13
grandchildren and 5 great-
grandchildren who also help
with the reception.
The serving table will be
overlaid with an ecru lace cloth
over gold satin draped in scall-
ops, held by white orchids. The
center arrangement will be a
large gold ring covered with
white mums tipped with gold.
Crystal candlehokiers will be
arranged around the 50th emb-
lem, with white mums and gold
bells at the base. The register
table will carry out the serv-
ile table theme. The corsage
will be of white orange blos-
soms worn by Mrs. Graf, will
be a duplication of the one she
carried on her wedding day,
fifty years ago.

Reunion
All eight children of Mrs.
T.A. Pace, 1106 9th St., Level-
land, gathered for a family re-
union and Thanksgiving dinner
in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Sherrod on Tuesday, Nov.
22.
Mrs. Pace, a Hockley County
pioneer, came to the Clauene
Community with Mr. Pace, now
deceased, in January, 1925. Mr.
Pace died in 1946. Six of the
Pace children were reared here
and five make their home in
and around Levelland.
Sons attending the familydin-
ner were Cecil Pace, Ramon
Pace and Glen Pace all of Lev-
elland and Walter Pace of San
Francisco. The daughters In-
clude, Mrs. Glen Smith and
Mrs. Jesse Giles of Corpus
Christ! and Mrs. Noma Atchi-
son and Mrs. Jack Sherrod,
Levelland.
Also attending were Mrs.
Cecil Pace, Mrs. Ramon Pace
Mrs. Glen Pace, Vernon Pace,
Mrs. T.A. Pace and boat Jack
Sherrod.
Mrs. Pace has 25grandchild-
ren and 37 greatgrandchildren.

They farmed in the Lockett
Community until 1936, moving
to Devine, Tex. in Medina Coun-
ty, where they farmed a few
years. In 1939, the couple and
their children moved to Level-
land where they were engaged
in farming until they retired
in 1963.
The parents of both Mr. and
Mrs. Graf were originally from
Germany settling in Fayette
County, Texas in 1882.

In Reddy Room
World War I veterans and
members of the Ladies Auxil-
iary of Barracks 1696 met in
the Reddy Room of SWPS Co.
for a Thanksgiving dinner Nov.
21.
After a special business
meeting those attending enjoy-
ed a Thanksgiving dinner fol-
lowed by games of “42”.
Present were Messrs. Tom
Phillips, W.A. Leigon,TJ. Rob-
inson, Bob Ford, Gene Aycock,
J.C. Rea, Bill Carter, R.B.

LUBBOCK VISITORS
Mr. and Mrs. Jug Hill and
children and Mr. and Mrs. Rich-
ard Houston were in Lubbock
last Saturday night. The coup-
les attended the Boots Randolf
Show and Floyd Cramer Show.
FAMILY VISITS
Mr. and Mrs. Frances Shif-
letts and family, flew to Okla-
homa last Saturday to visit with
their grandparents. They cele-
brated their grandfather’s bir-
thday. The family flew back
home Sunday.
WMA CIRCLE MEET
The Elenor Elizabeth WMA
met Monday Nov. 21 at 7:30
pjn. In the Missionary Baptist
Church auditorium. Mrs. Rus-
sell Hudson, president, presid-
ed st the short business meet-
ing. Part four of the study
course on Prayer and Meditat-
ion was led by Mrs. Elenor
Hobson. Members present were
Mmes. Dale Edward Kirk, Joe
Clark, Gene Clark, Mary Min-
or, Russell Hudson, Karen Hoff-
man and Mrs. Hobson.
The next meeting will be Nov.
28 at 7:30 p.m. in the church
auditorium.
CHANGE OF DATE
The annual Christmas parade
date has been changed to Thurs-
day Dec. 1 at 3:30 p.m. The
Morton Junior Chamber of
Commerce is sponsoring the
parade with Royce Hanna chair-
man. Theme for the parade will
be “Christmas International”.
Each local merchant will pay a
$10 sponsor fee which will go
to the organization or club spon-
soring their float. Each organi-
zation may spend as much as
they wish on their entry. The
parade will feature Santa Claus
and the Jaycees of Morton will
carry the American flag. Prize
money will include $25 for 1st
place; $15, 2nd place; and $10
for 3rd place. There will be no
entry fee to clubs wishing to
enter a float. Any club wishing
to enter a float should contact
Royce Hanna. Judges will con-
sist of local clubs not having
an entry in the parade. J udging
will be on the overall beauty of
the floats. They are also asked
to place the names of sponsors
and participating organizations
on their floats.
The parade units are asked to
form at 3 p.m. in the 200 block
of East Lincoln and will travel
to North Main, circling the
Courthouse Square, with the
members of the parade disband-
ing in front of the County Acti-
vity Building as previously sch-
ed uled.
Clubs and organizations al-
ready entered include the Mod-
ern Mothers Home Demonstrat-
ion Club, the Morton High Sch-
ool Band, Cochran County Sher-
iff Posse; Local 4-H Clubs, Mor-
ton High School auto Mechanics
Department, Stockdale Little
Folks School, and the L’Alle-
gro Study Club.

counting, ‘A, B, C, D.’ I was
shocked!”
Hospital authorities are call-
ing the children, ranging in
weight from 1 pound 7 ounces to
1 pound 12 ounces, by letters
until the parents come up with
names.
Mrs. Aranson’s mother, Mrs.
Joseph Greenberger, said that
her father’s mother — Mrs.
Aranson’s great grandmother-
had been a twin. Greenberger
said he had some first cousins
who had been twins, but he
coulckit recall any details or
names.
