From ESA Courthouse
Landscape Commltfse
The Delta Lambda Chapter of
the ESA Sorority proudly an-
nounces the Comanche County
Commissioners' Court’s approval
and endorsement of their County
Courthouse Landscape Project.
On Tuesday, November 12, at
their regular meeting the Com-
missioners' Court wholeheartedly
supported this overall landscape
project for the Courthouse groun-
ds. The ESA Sorority, a women’s
educational and service
organization, is sponsoring this
major project in honor of the
Texas Sesquicentennial.
ESA members are now ready to
get out the shovels and begin
preparing the Courthouse grounds
for the new plant material. They
plan to do as much of the labor as
possible but will need countywide
financial backing. "Our ESA
Chapter has seed money to get
this project started, however we
need to raise $2,000-$3,000 for the
first and most important part of
the landscape plan," stated Beth

there are many Comanche Coun-

I' 'The Courthouse landscape plan
designed by Marty Baker, Lan-
dscape horticulturalist with the
Texas Agriculture Extension Ser-
vice utilizes predominately native
Texas plants which are attractive,
low maintenance, and drought
resistant. Baker, who also
designed the landscaping in the
Mineral Wells Project and the new
Tarrant County Courthouse,
stated that once the shrubs and
trees are established they should
be able to live on the annual rain-
fall amount of Comanche County.
