Mixed Drink Tax
Rebates Made
State Comptroller Bob Bullock
Thursday, October 31, sent checks
totaling $11.8 million to the 221
counties and 422 cities as their
share of the state's 12 percent
mixed drink tax collected during
the third quarter of 1985.
The Texas Legislature raised the
tax from 10 percent to 12 percent
in 1984.
Bullock said the state collected
$49.4 million in mixed drink taxes
for the third quarter at the in-
creased rate, compared to $40.4
million collected during third
quarter 1984 at the old 10 percent
rate.
Texas cities and counties now
each receive a 12.5 percent share of
the tax collected on mixed drinks
sold wit hin their boundaries under
the law that legalized the sale of ■
mixed drinks in the state.
Of the total $49.4 million in
state collections, counties received
$6.1 million, up from the $6 million
received third quarter in 1984.
Cities received $5.7 million com-
pared to $5.6 million collected
during the same period last year

Day-Ly Club
In Meeting
by Reporter
A special meeting of the Day-Ly
Home Extension Club was held
November 11 at 9 o’clock in the
home of Suzanne Gaines. The pur-
pose of this meeting was to recruit
new members.
There was a total of thirteen
present including six members, six
guests and our County Extension
Agent. If there is anyone who
would like to join please contact
Sarah Mitchell-Tebow at the Ex-
tension office.
Suzanne brought the meeting to
order. She welcomed the guests
and explained some of what the
club is about.
The meeting was then turned
over to Sarah who presented the
program which was How to Make
Crepes. She made one to show
everyone how, then each person
made one for herself. The program
was very interesting and the
crepes were enjoyed by all. When
everyone had finished eating, a
door prize was drawn for Mary
Potter.
The meeting was adjourned.
