By Reporier MARTY BAUGH
Alto firefighters were busy right
up to the last day of 1986. Last
Tuesday they met and refueled the
air tanks on the breathing ap-
paratus and checked each truck for
maintenance repairs. Most of the
up-keep on the fire trucks is done by
the firefighters.
A “Big" thanks to John Grindle
for the grease gun he donated to the
department. It was needed and is
really appreciated.
One goal for the future is for the
fire department to have equipment
available for all necessary main-
tenance right in the fire station that
would result in tremendous saving
to everyone.
Grass fires are now happening
Remember, burn early in the mor-
ning when the wind is low; plow a
fire lane around the area, have
plenty of water if possible, and
notify the fire department or the
forest service in advance
Thanks go to Mr and Mrs Joe D
Klores for the donation to the fire
department
