Accidents
Reported
The Texas Highway Patrol in-
vestigated 25 rural traffic accidents
in Cherokee County during Decem-
ber 1985 according to Sergeant San-
ders, supervisor for this Highway
Patrol Sergeant Area These ac-
cidents resulted in 1 death and 16 in-
juries The total rural traffic ac-
cidents for Cherokee County for
1985 was 317, which have resulted in
14 deaths and 224 injuries.
The 22 counties that comprise
Highway Patrol District 6A have
had a total of 6,800 rural traffic ac-
cidents this year which have
resulted in 224 deaths and 4,308 in-
juries This compares to 6,339 ac-
cidents, 213 deaths, and 3,979 in-
juries reported during the same
period last year.

of Husk
Mr Lloyd died Friday morning in
a Rusk hospital.
A native and life-long resident of
Husk, he was a member of the
Methodist church.
He is survived by his parents, Joe
Earl and Marie Lloyd of Husk; four
brothers. Bobby, Larry, James and
Shannon Lloyd of Husk; gran-
dmother. Mrs. Bessie Lloyd of
Husk, three nieces; one nephew;
and several aunts, uncles and
cousins.
Pallbearers were Handy Woodall,
Woody Skinner, Andy Huddleston,
Calvin Norton. Elbert Norton and
Tim Harris

Graveside services for Mrs.
Jimmie Bounds, 79. Jacksonville,
are set for 1 p.m Saturday in
Jarratt Cemetery near Jackson-
ville with the Rev. Harold John-
son officiating, with arrangements
under the direction of Thompson
Funeral Home.
Mrs Bounds died Thursday in a
Marshal nursing home after a long
illness.
She was born Dec. 8, 1906, in Alto,
and lived most of her life in the
Jacksonville area Mrs Bounds
was a former seamstress of the
Marja factory in Jacksonville
She was a member of A. Frank
Smith United Methodist Church,
Alto,
Survivors include three sons,
John Bounds Jr., Sinton Mack
Bounds, Shreveport, La , and Tom
Bounds, Freeport; two brothers,
Fred Thomas, Tyler, Floyd
Thomas, Alto; one sister, Edith
Baker, Dallas; five grandchildren,
six great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews

Funeral for Laurel LeNormand of
Alto, was at 10 a m. Monday in
Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev T. E Pate Sr
officiating.
Burial was in Salem Cemetery ‘in
Hempstead
Mr LeNormand died Saturday in
a Rusk nursing home after a long
illness. He was born in Morgan
City, La., and a member of the
Christian Scientist Church
He is survived by his wife,
Elizabeth LeNormand of Alto; one
sister Hazel Schifflett of Little
Rock, Ark ; and one brother, Oscar
LeNormand of New Orleans

Music Show
The Lowe's Family musicians will be featured in the Lowe’s Country
Music Show at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Feb. 7 at the Wells School
Auditorium. The concert will feature country, blue grass, gospel and
comedy routines and songs. The group from Branson. Mo. will sing
"Elvira" and "Coozins." Advanced tickets are available from the
show's sponsors, the Wells Lions Club, for 96 for adults and 63 for
children under 14. At the door tickets are 17 for adults and 94 for
children under 14.
