In response to requests from local
business owners, the Levelland Area
Chamber of Commerce and the City
of Levelland are sponsoring a seminar
designed to help small businesses
market more successfully. The seminar
will present ways to improve marketing
to local customers.
The one-day seminar is scheduled
for Jan. 24 and will be given by the
Small Business Development Center
(SBDC) and the Texas Department
of Agriculture (TDA).
"We wanted to put together a
program to help our businesses capture
the retail dollar in Levelland before
it can go to Lubbock," said assistant
city manager Rick Osbum. "The SBDC
pul the program together and has
included some really top-notch people
from Lubbock and Austin."
Although the Department of
Agriculture is involved, this seminar
is not for fanners. TDA’s responsibilities
include assisting rural communities
to prosper so they can provide goods
and services to agriculture. This seminar
is part of that responsibility.
"We have reserved the Sundown
Room at South Plains College for the
seminar," said Pat Reed of the chamber
of commerce. "We plan to include an
agenda and registration information
in the upcoming chamber newsletter."
A small registration fee to cover
materials and lunch will be charged, infamation should contact the dtamber
