ISSUED TO ALL SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL . . . . . . . . . No. 755
6 September 1967
U. S. SAVINGS The 1967 U. S. Savings Bond Drive will get underway
BOND CAMPAIGN on Monday, 11 September. Supervisors will issue
payroll deduction authorization cards to employes
on that day. The corporate goal is 80 percent participation. To reach
this goal in the Fort Worth Division, it is necessary to enroll 7722
additional employes. A substantial number of people have been hired
since the last bond drive. Consequently, your personal contacts with
employes while issuing the cards, and during the drive, can insure that
all employes, both new and old, are fully aware of their opportunity for
systematic savings and patriotic action.
It should be noted that the Government Bonds being purchased by many of
your employes through the Savings and Stock Investment Program should
not be confused with the Series E or Victory Bonds offered since 1941
through the Payroll Savings Plan. These are two separate programs. Only
the Series E Bond buyers will be counted in this campaign. This enables
employes to save regularly, using the convenience of payroll deductions,
and to put these savings into bonds, above the limits possible through
the Savings and Stock Investment Program.
HANDLING SPECIAL The high-dollar cost and critical functions of
EQUIPMENT ITEMS electronic components and assemblies make it impor-
tant that these special equipment items be handled
and transported properly. Two general practices which are essential are
to:
1. Place each piece of equipment in a separate, delicate-equipment
container.
2. Transport items on vehicles with shock-absorbing running gear.
Process Standard 20.02-4 describes, in detail, the specific practices
necessary in all stages of handling these items. Everyone involved needs
to have a thorough familiarity with these handling practices. Adherence
to them will avoid aircraft down-time and costly rework of components.
