INTER-OFFICE LETTER

ON THIS SHEET HEADS FOR INTER-OFFICE CORRESPONDENCE
Dear Mrr. Kempner:
As you know, we have done some remodeling and repairing
during the past couple of years and right now the outside
of the building and the inside of what we call the west wing
are in fairly good shape.
However, to put the balance of the interior of the
hospital in fairly good condition will require between $12,000.
and $15,000. and, unfortunately, we are faced with spending
this amount of money without too much delay. As you know,
we have discussed building a new hospital off and on during
the past several years as our present one is certainly out
of date and, in addition, the location, due to increased
traffic by reason of expansion of our schools and residential
sections, is very bad.
I am today writing Clark Thompson to find out whether
federal funds are available and, if so, under what terms and
conditions. As soon as I have a reply, I will discuss this
further with you. In the meantime, I should like to ask
that you give this some thought and maybe we can at least
discuss it briefly on your next visit.
Yours very truly,
T:r..H.L.iJames.
