arise from time to time between the
countries as a result of tho opera
lion of suoh treaties. It is an-
nounced that the government haB
decided not to oppose the resolu-
tions. They will probably be sub-
mitted this afternoon.
A Respite Expected.
Chicago Jan. 9. Although no
word has so far been received from
Governor Altgeld another respite
is hourly expected for George II.

New York Jan. 9. An impor-
tant joint meeting of the general
passenger agents of the trunk lines
Central Traffic association roads
opened hero today for the purpose
of considering a plan for the re-
moval of the demoralization that
exists through the territory in con-
sequence of unauthorized payment
of commissions and the cutting of
tariff rates. The presidents of the
roads have found themselves un3ble
to grapple with the troubles and
in consequence the passenger agents
were ordered to formulate a plan
for dealing with existing condi-
tions. Athletic Club Election.
New York Jan. 9. Tho liveli-

A Big Wolf Hunt.
Ai.gons la. Jan. 9. About all
tho population of this city and the
neighborhood turned out today for
the big wolf hunt which had boon
determined upon owing to tho fact
that wolves have been very plenti-
ful this winter and tho loss of
sheep by the f armors has b ion cor
respondingiy largo. It is proponed
to drive the wolves into tho big
swamp in tho northern part of tho
country where tho round up is to be
