just and littingto remark that any
appreciative mind could see imme-
diately the pains and interest taken
by the Brothers in training their
youthful charges. Order and dicip-
j linere vailed while the various
roles wore executed as to make it
visible that tho boys lia'd been most
skilfully taught. The parents of
the performers mav justly be proud
of their manly lads who acquitted
themeves so nicely. Well may
tills inference be drawn: il the
Brothers aie so earnest in teaching
the pupils to get up such a credit-
able commencement how much
iriore do 'they not strive during
school hours to benefit tho boys un-
der their charge .
Tho program was arranged and
carried out with taste and judge-
ment and the performance was all
that could be expected from child
ron. The bos marcked on the
the stage in excellent order keeping
time to music Then followed the
olutator. The skill with which
Master M. Valde rendorod it a
well as that manifested by Harry
St. Clair in the farewell addret-s
was an unmistakable proof of the
pains taken by the bo.s and their
teachers t(S make the commencement
PUCtOBSful.
The singing throughout wa3 ex-
cellent. To simple vocal power
was added sympathetic earnestness .
The beautiful "Laughing Song"
was truly a tieat and was ven nice-
ly rendered by the little lada. In
the singing as well as in recitation;
the matter was well chosen the
articulation distinct and the gesture
natuial and graceful. The play en-
tilled "geography"' was very good .
The part of the school-master was
taken by H. St. Clair and his acting
was all lhat could bo w ish for man
amateur.
During the intervals between the
dialogues very enjoyable music
was given .
"A Couit Trial" a most laughable
dialogue was splendidly performed
and highly applauded. It was most
entertaining throughout each part
Ueing piajed with telling 2iTect and
skill. There was in oach of the
diamatis perconte an absence bf
seif-consciouness and ai earnest-
ness and enthusiasm that"4 bespoke
talent and training. The play was
pronounced splendid and reflects
meat credit Osi pupils and teachers.
"Dent.' by Master Colonel V re-
ford was warmly applauded by the
pleaded audience.
Then followed an exhibition in
calisthenics by 11. St. Clair and
later on a club-drill by t-ome of the
bojs. Each wa5 deservedly ap-
plauded. Tne "Spelling Bee" was thorough-
ly enjoyed and unstintedly applaud
