excursion train would bring a
crowd Sunday at 12:110 o'clock.
A fow people know that it wuh
given out at tho depot about 10
o'clock that morning that HfiO
tickets had boon sold before Hal -linear
wuh rouched. Iut nobody
looked for ten coach loads of
people to come to San Angelo to
Hpond the day and to see tho hull
game.
Hut they had a good time.
San Angolo hotels and eating
houses hundlod tho people Home
way they thoinsolves cannot say
just how. At any rate .wo know
that they wont awuy seemingly

ple. There wore muny fumiliur

They reported a good time us

of an excursion ut any rate. Then
thoro wub tho Suntit Aiinii crowd
tho Coleman delegation but the
representation had by any of
them was that of Hrouuwuod.
Brownwood people bulievo in
bucking up their ball team They
believe that baseball does them
good and they pay woll to support
their team. Managers Low and
Tiono wore along. .Mr. Low is a
pleasant gentleman and has many
trrjnds in San Angolo Mr. Trone
is a lover of athletics a baae ball
expert does his share of the "hur-
rahing " His little bout with
"Deacon" Sharpo in front ol the
grandstand was an exhibition of
quick wittedness but the San An-
gelo man was the quickest. Mr.
Trone good naturedly sat down.
After all an expeiionco like
this is good for tho town. Tho
Sunday law wuh respected by tho
saloon men so far as tho I'ress
knows and thoro was no rowdyism.
Tho inability of the town to feed
tho throng on such short notice
can and of courso will be over-
looked. Tho oxciirsioniets aro
not such unroiiBoimblo people us
nob to understand this. Lessons
in handling people and curing for
their wants will be learned and
perhaps if another crowd like this
honors us with their presence
San Angolo may be better ablo to
look after thoir wants.
THK I1AIJ (1AMK.
Brownwood is outmatched
when playing with San Angolo.
Tho far westerners aro too much
for thorn. This is proven by tho
fact that out of three games on
tho Brownwood grounds San An
gelo won two. Sunday's game
wus further proof.
Bert Iliso tho pitchor of state-
wide reputation has been signed
by tho mauagomeut and appeared
in the box for his initial game on
this occasion. Urown woods'
pitcher is that ex-leaguer and
erstwhile member of tho Corsi-
cautt and Temple teams tho well
known Leas. Ono might have
therefore expected to see a but tin
botwien pitchers and sure
onoiigh thoy didn't. Noithor of
them wore in their best form.
Neither of them did thoir best
work'
Thogamowas a fairly good one.
A tow errors on either side protty
fair batting and good head work
tolls the story. Ozoo niudo as
good a second baseman as ono
could care for did excellent Hold
ing and was desorvingly applaud-
ed. Bullew and Taylor played
thoir Holds woll but Tnylor lost
his head while ut but. Tho oth
er pluvora wore in good form es-
pecially Long Tliomns who hit
the bull like his lifo depended on
it. Look ut his record taduy.
Tho foutures of tho guino wore
Krwin's "parked" ball und Con-
nor's scratch homo run. Oeo
niudo a protty field of n groundor
in oxtromo right aim misiiyiioau
got two sonButional cutches.
