Report's by train men who caino iu
oh tho dowii &t of tho Texas Cen-
tral last night' show most excessive
ralnfull in tho upper country yester-
day and last evening. The Bosque
valley through Erath couuty is
said to be under water presenting
the appoarauco of a great and contin-
uous lake. At A lxeuander last even-
ing one of the greatest precipitations
of rain occurred that was ovor known
in that Bootion. It resembled a water
spout more than a rainfall. Tho
cloud which brought rain over Waco
this morning was it is believed only
a fragment of what must have b on
by the appearance of tho cloud a
tremendous rain higher up tho coun-
try. Theso things all seem to indi-
cate vast volumes of wator pouring
Into tho Brazos through tho Bosquo
or which will be thus poured out to-
night or to-morrow. If the rains of
yesterday were wldo-sprend enough
to ombrace tho Brnzo.s vniw nu.i ni.

is some room for apprehension that
with tho present stago of tho river It
may ovcrllow its banks.
Tho river was falling all tho fore
noon but about noon bogan to rise
again and had added two feet to Its
volume by four o'clock at which time
it was rising at tho samo rate about
six Inches por hour.
