TURKEYWALK TALK - Conclusion of this Rood
natured trio I* that "it's time to sign up for the Nov. 2
Turkey walk." They are (from left) Betty West, pro-
gram chairwoman of the Palo Pinto County American
Heart Association; Huey Ix>ng, the president; and Het-
ty Meyers. Turkeywaik chairwoman. You don't have to
register until 8:30 a.m. on the second, but meanwhile,
you must contact one of the above folks and begin
working on your sponsor form. Each competitor
gathers supporters who pay them per mile of walking.
MINI EDITORIAL: It's nice to
know that Soviet boss Mikhail Gor-
bachev doesn't reserve his smiling,
bare-faced lies for external consump-
tion He's pulling his shell game on
the long-suffering Soviet public as

Then, it's a case of who can do ten, and can anyone pull
eleven. Al least in years past, those have been among
the longer distances completed. Everyone is invited to
West City Park to see the race begin at • a.m. on the se-
cond. Time is wasting for those of you who want to
gather sponsors and enter this year. Traditionally, the
competition is pretty tough, both for gathering pledges
and for walking. Palo Pinto County American Heart
Association sponsors the Turkeywalk each tall.
well. Banner headlines in Pravada
just announced that production of
consumer goods will increase by 30
percent In the next five years and by
a whopping no percent to 90 percent
by the year 2000. In the services area,
output by everything from
restaurants to car repair shops will
increase by 130 percent. We suspect
